On my recent trip to Alaska I spent one day on the water halibut fishing with the captain and two retired couples.

One of the couples was celebrating their 50th anniversary.

Unfortunately, the wife Of this couple had several serious medical issues that made it physically difficult for her to be on the boat. We literally had to manhandle her up the ladder and into the boat.

But she did not not complain. To the contrary, she was not going to let anything interfere with this special experience with her husband.

We all had a great time and I was inspired by her strength, courage, fortitude and love of life.

Heroes are everywhere.
