This is a good forum
Just wanted to drop a line saying that so far my experience at the Smith and Wesson Forum has been very good, and I appreciate the members I've had contact with so far. I've participated in other gun forums, and the experience has been less so. Guns make for divisive topics of conversation, even among people who like them.
I have some very liberal friends who I do consider good friends, but who are disturbed and often judgmental regarding legally armed, law abiding citizens. I also have some friends and family on the other end of the spectrum who can be boorish, belligerent, and exhibit very anti-social behavior. Each group is equally intolerant of the other, and each group seems to view the world as a bad, life threatening place that will be made safer either by the elimination or proliferation of private firearms.
I don't have any answers or sage like wisdom. The whole thing does get tiresome though.

I recently joined a car forum. This place has spoiled me even though I mostly lurk here. The other forum's members get into it over everything, and I'm talking about topics related to cars.

I've found that the people on this forum and Shotgun World are the most helpful and well meaning. I've found the members on other forums to be overly critical and defensive if something isn't quite "right" about your firearm or car.

Agreed on the Forum; lots of truly good folks here. As for the differing pro-and anti-gun camps, you're one of the people who has enough objectivity to stand the middle ground. Kudos on that!
