I lived in Hawaii, in the mountains above Honolulu for three years, in Army family housing. All I can say is it sure wasn't Texas and I was really really happy to get back to Texas. A two week mid-tour leave in San Antonio helped me keep my sanity.

Yeah, I saw that on another forum. Talk about PC bureaucrats run amok! The department is cash strapped, so the lunatics running the assylum decide to spend over a million bucks (IIRC) on replacing their perfectly serviceable semi-auto side arms with a bunch of new semi-auto sidearms IN THE SAME CALIBER. And then, to put the icing on the cake, rather than sell the old ones and recover nearly $600k of the taxpayers money they DESTROY the old guns rather than sell them.
Someone in Hawaii 5-0 needs thrown out of office. Pronto.

What is Steve McGarrett and 5-O gonna use now? 
Even if they did not want to sell to the public I can't believe some other LE agency could not have used them even if they got them for free??

Officials that did this should be fired (just in the principal of wasting taxpayers resources).

One just wonders how/what these people are thinking. I would think the taxpayers would all be voting at the next election.

I am guessing these were S&W third generation 9mm pistols with 200 of them being new in the box. That is just wrong, and borders on criminal behavior.

And in other news, an entire village DNA tested positive to be direct blood relatives to the Kardashians. Yet, there is to be no reality show, according to a Hollywood reporter speaking in a condition of anonymity because one villager appearance is actually unappealing.
