Off the top of my head.......
Ski King - E.C. Beatty
The Elements - Tom Lehrer
Earache My Eye/Turn That Thing Down - Cheech and Chong
Here are a few that I don't want to link due to content but you can look them up:
"The Homecoming Queen's Got A Gun" (unedited version)
"The Devil Went Down To Jamaica"
Here's an extra that isn't really a novelty song but is clever and funny. The idea came to Mark Knopfler when he overheard salesmen in an appliance store commenting on MTV.
Money For Nothing - Dire Straits
PS: Long live Dr. Demento

And the ever popular:
"Pleas don't call me on the shrimp boat mama 'cause I'm comin' home with the crabs."

Oh good, I'm not the only one twisted enough to think of that. Years ago I played the tape of that (tape!) to one of my teacher colleagues, and she told me I was going straight to hell.
Now there is actually a video with it on YouTube.

Add Camp Granada to that list!
We use to have a close family friend named Irving that fit the song "The Ballad of Irving". We never did get a picture of him with a gun in front of my uncle's Frontier Deli though.

They're coming to take me away and the flip side was the song played backwards. Despite all the claims of hidden lyrics when playing songs backwards, this is the only one I've ever heard and there aren't any. I also suspect this song gives the P.C. crowd apoplexy.

Now that brought back some memories. It was pretty popular on R n R stations back in the 60's when it was all AM radio.
Yes, this one is real too. Big hit in 1958 i believe.

I am proud, so proud, that some fellow forumites know and appreciate The Beat Farmers.
Country Dick Montana was one of the great all-time entertainers. I count him as a friend, and was sad to write his obit for a local music magazine. The live shows were something to experience. The fact that the man expired onstage, in front of a sold-out house, is testament to his dedication.
Since we have so many clearly impeccable examples of good taste previously posted, I'm going to add one that is a bit of a cult classic and unbeknownst to many.
In the 1970s, the Statler Brothers created an alter-ego band of sorts, a gaggle of characters from Rainbow Valley, VA, whose chief contribution to country music was out of tune, mispronounced, generally awful and timelessly endearing: Lester "Roadhog" Moran & The Cadillac Cowboys.
Here they are on Pop Goes The Country:
Here they are on the City Music News Awards show with Tommy Wynette and Ray Clark. I didn't misspell those names:
It took superior musicians to make such a parody. If you can lay hands on the album "Alive at the Johnny Mack Brown High School" or "The Complete Lester "Roadhog" Moran & The Cadillac Cowboys", do it. Huge grins.

Speaking of The Beat Farmers ... most of the comedy songs were done by Country Dick. So long as he stayed behind the drums the Farmers were an exceptional roots rock / Americana band.
When Dick came up front and Buddy or Jerry took over drumming, well, it could degenerate into a whiskey-soaked bacchanal of epic proportions. Witness Dick's autobiographical number, The California Kid, replete with plenty Ol' West gunslinging references to make any forumite smile:
"Big Ugly Wheels" is about a cockroach of a man and a bullfrog of a woman. Pretty danged funny:

Wow, that brings back memories! I saw the Beat Farmers a few times in the bay area and San Diego in the early 90's. I was introduced to them by a fellow co-worker who who knew Country Dick. He has a voice that is hard to forget! Always a lot of fun.
