Anyone ever hunt at Ft. Clark Springs, TX?
Good morning:
I've reserved a weekend hunt in January, 2016 in Fort Clark Springs, Brackettville, TX as a (high school) graduation present for my son. They offer very reasonably priced ($150.00/person/day) hunts, and each hunter is allowed to shoot 2 does (whitetail or Axis), 1 cull whitetail buck, 2 turkeys, unlimited feral hogs, unlimited foxes, coyotes, bobcats.
I've read numerous reviews of their on-site hotel and RV park, but cannot find any reviews about their hunting. Fort Clark Springs is a former U.S. Army cavalry base, and is now a gated community with a golf course, swimming pool, and other amenities.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Dave

Interesting place!
Have never been there but would like to.
If you guys take all those animals, you will be in the butcher business.

Sorry, I should have provided a link to the site:

Pilgrim: I just bought a 70 quart cooler, an electric meat grinder, a (vacuum) food sealer, and a 6 ft. long (plastic) folding table in anticipation of our hunting success. Just spending time with the boy, er, young man, is the real treat.

Dave

I've hunted between Fort Clark Springs and Del Rio. Lot of whitetails around there but they tend to run pretty small. Watch where you sit. Plenty of cactus. Good luck on your hunt.

Thank you, Pilgrim and OFTIII, for your responses. My understanding is that Fort Clark Springs is an oasis, and that there is supposed to be abundant wildlife in that area., I guess my boy and I will find out come January. Of to the range today to sight-in our rifles.
Regards,
Dave
