When fixing old tube radios, even if it is unplugged, be careful where you put your fingers.

Never try to lift your cat to safety when the dogs are chasing him around the house.

When I first started surveying back in the 70's we used a steel tape as laser measuring equipment was too expensive for some small businesses. The new guy on the crew always got the duty as a rear chainman. He was the guy that held the rear of the tape under the transit with a metal clamp. As an initiation the head chainman would tell the rear chainman he was ready to measure. The rear chainman would clamp onto the tape and get ready for the tension. The head chainman would then throw the tape over an electric fence and light the rear chainman up. Great fun.

Don't rub your eyes with the back of your hand after reaching in an almost empty bag of jalapeno potato chips. I've done it several times thinking it was okay since I was only using my fingers tips to touch the chips. I keep forgetting that the back of my big mitts are touching the inside of the chip bag where all the seasoning is at...........I'm a slow learner sometimes (you can ask my wife).

It is generally unwise to goose a Cape buffalo.

Finally learned this one after the third incident.

Yes, sir! Painful = Removing your contact lenses after making a giant batch of salsa. Even after washing your hands several times!
