Tennessee Is A GREAT State!
I just heard on the news. That The Barrett Rifle has been chosen as our state gun!
#1. I didn't know we had a state gun?
#2. I'm betting the politically correct yuppies are upset?
#3. Now if we can just get Hickok45 to run for a major political office, we'd be set!
#5. If we can get em to change the State flower to an orange traffic cone. It would be perfect! Because we see more traffic cones, that wild Iris!

A "state gun", Beretta relocating to Middle TN, a Nissan plant, a Volkswagen plant, a GMC plant, Amazon facilities everywhere, home of Jack Daniels and George Dickel whiskey distilleries, the Grand Ole Opry well, yes it is a great state!
"Thank you, thank you very much!"

Rock and Roll was born at a little one room recording studio at 706 Union Ave, Memphis, Tennessee.
Some say it was on March 3, 1951 When Jackie Brenston and Ike Turner recorded Rocket 88. Others say it was born on July 5, 1954 when a young truck driver named Elvis Presley recorded That's All Right Mama.
The list of future icons that cut their teeth at this small one room studio is staggering, much more so if you combine the total number of records this group can be attributed to.
Howlin' Wolf
Ike Turner
Elvis Presley
Carl Perkins
Johnny Cash
Roy Orbison
Jerry Lee Lewis
Rufus Thomas
Carla Thomas
Charlie Rich
Conway Twitty
Bill Justis
Little Milton
B.B. King
Bill Black
Ed Bruce
David Allen Coe
Junior Parker

I was born and raised in Tennessee
I live just 20 miles from where I was born
There is so much to do in Tennessee!
If you love to hike, here is a great site with waterfall and landform locations.
It gives locations by county right down to the gps coordinates.

Well... we got the VW plant and a huge Amazon distribution operation here in Chattanooga.
My exit off the highway used to be one lane each way, driving though a tube of trees hardly any traffic other than for the school and morning/afternoon work traffic. Now it's 4 lanes each way... Walmart, a crazy number of banks, a zillion stores and fast food... and 6 level hotel! Traffic around the clock.
Fortunately I built my home in an area that can't be directly invaded by all this, but I still have to get though it. Progress is great depending on your perspective.
Unfortunately, I've had to spend some time in Nashville. It more and more reminds me of why I moved out of the bay area California.
All that said... I do have the rifle club within spitting distance of where I live that is paradise.
