They're looking terrific so far. I'm a Reds and Red Sox fan, but I'd really enjoy seeing the Cubs win it all.
I was a devout Dodgers fan, but then they left Brooklyn and broke my spirit.

Right now they have the best record in the league.
Subject to change, of course.
It's still a long way to October.

He used to pitch here at our Junior College, and then went over to TCU. I hope the Cubs make it to the World Series this year.

As a lifelong Cardinals fan, raised in south St. Louis county, I would actually like to see the Cubs have a good year. That way the rivalry wouldn't be such a one sided butt whoopin.
LOL
Just giving you a hard time. Even though I really did grow up a Redbird fan, I always watched Cubs games on WGN on cable. Still watch Cubs games, as a matter of fact, even though now I live in Ohio and bleed for the Indians as well as my Cards. Some of my fondest memories are Harry Caray calling day games at Wrigley Field (better yet was Jack Buck calling Cards games at Busch stadium).
I guess my ultimate baseball post season would be the Indians beating the Yankees in the ALCS, the Cards beating the Cubs in the NLCS and then I'm not sure who I'd pull for in the fall classic. It would be torture, lol, but I guess in my heart of heart, it would be Cards, because I am at heart a National League guy.
Go Cards!!

I don't follow "America's sport" but the game tonight was terrific. Decisive.
I've attended one (two) MLB game -- a double header -- in my life Cubs vs. Dodgers, 1964, Cubs took both.
Congrats, and Go Cubs.

I'm not a fan but Congrats and Good Luck to the Lovable Losers and their followers.
Not sure if I root one way or the other, the Marlin's managed to sink both of their boats, Cleveland recently landed a championship and the thought of the Cubs actually winning a World Series is truly bizarre.
Looking forward to good clean fun on the field without any reason to whine about the result.

This should be a very exciting World Series. Tito Francona is one of the best managers in baseball. He managed to beat Boston then Toronto with a couple of his best pitchers out injured. He has some good former Red Sox on his team and on his staff. He's won two World Series and has brought the Indians back to playoff baseball.
Merlot Joe Maddon is a very good manager as well. He has at least two excellent former Red Sox pitchers on his staff.
Yes, this will be an exciting series.

I think this will be a great series ! I don't see how the Cubs could be a 2-1 favorite though, the Indians have been tough as any team I've seen through the playoffs, Maddon and Francona, 2 of the best managers in baseball, IMO.
I'm really still in shock and as long as they play good I'll be happy with the result no matter who wins, we have a young team and though we'll lose some players at some point the farm system is still loaded, I'm hoping we're competitive for a good few years to come. GOOOOO CUBBIES !!!!

A young boy had to testify in his parent's divorce hearing. The judge asked him, "Do you want to live with your mother?" "No, she beats me." The judge asked, "Do you want to live with your father?" "No, he beats me." The judge finally asked, "Who do you want to live with?"
"The Cubs. They don't beat anybody."

My mother was a Cubs fan and knew next to nothing about baseball. For a long time I figured all Cubs fans were like that too. Iowa is a Cubs hot bed so I became a Cards fan because they're consistent winners and have smart management.
Now the Cubs have cheated and have an owner who will spend the money, a GM who is way smarter than most(compare to White Sox), a damn good manager and lots of good players(except Heyward). The old Cubs always had two or three good players and a buncha stiffs. Now they've got through the playoff wringer and I BELIEVE!!!

Yup y'all got stuck with Heyward. He was decent while in St. Louis but nowhere near worth the money the Cubs are paying him.
Sort of pulling for the Indians, us Cardinal fans just can't pull for the Cubs. Now if we could just get Charlie "Wild Thing" Sheen to throw out the first ball.

Heyward took less money to come here (lackey too), yes his bat was awful this season but his glove helped, I like the man and figure it all fits into the magical part of the Cubs season. I hope his bat comes back next season, or a few clutch hits in the WS will make everyone forget what happened during the regular season.
Tribe fans, I can only wish you good luck, but I think you're up against it and only because so many things have gone the Cubbies way this year, may the best team win.

If you look at Heyward's numbers during his year with the Cards he hit like .230 which seems low for $80M. Theo's entitled to a mistake once in a while. Heyward was tagged as THE franchise guy the Braves future relied on. He got hit bad in the head/neck and never the same.

My Wife is a bigger sports fan than I am has told Me that the Indians will win the next game and the Cub's win the one after that.
She says that there is so much Money to be made from advertising and product and ticket sales that they will keep the series going as long as possible.
Normally I would say She's crazy but after watching the Browns (Ravens) go to the Superbowl and win I dont know.

108 years since 1908. 108 stitches on a baseball made by Spaulding, 108 Madison Ave., Chicago. WGN broadcasts the Cubs games HQ'ed in the old Sears Tower... 108 floors. Cubs play in Wrigley field, Chicago Planning Zone permit #108.
There's more but that's all I recall from the news story I heard this morning.

It takes 108 outs to win the NLCS and 108 outs to win the World Series (27 outs per game x 4 games won = 108 outs).
AG Spalding, the Chicago Cubs’ first manager and owner of the Spalding Sporting Goods, wrote a rule into the National League’s first set of rules requiring teams to only use Spalding baseballs. His baseballs have 108 stitches. His office was at 108 W. Madison.
The distance from both the left field and right field foul poles to home plate at Wrigley Field is 108 meters.
The City of Chicago’s zoning records show that Planned Development #108 belongs to Wrigley Field. There are 1,336 planned developments in Chicago.
The Ricketts family, who own the Cubs, made their fortune with Omaha-based TD Ameritrade. Its corporate headquarters are located on 108th Avenue.
The movies “Taking Care of Business” and “Back to the Future Part II” both feature the Cubs winning the World Series. Both movies are108 minutes long.
Cubs game broadcasts are transmitted from the top of the Willis Tower, which is 108 stories tall.
The Cubs’ lawsuit against the State of Illinois to have games at night at Wrigley Field was recorded in Volume 108 of the Illinois Supreme Court Reports.
The World Series trophy is made of silver, which carries the atomic weight of 108.
108 is a sacred number in Yoga. Jake Arrieta does yoga six days a week.
Cubs star pitcher Jon Lester was born in the 108th largest city in the U.S., Tacoma Washington (according to the 2010 National Census.)
NLCS Game 2 starting pitcher was Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks was born on 12/7/89. 12+7+89=108.

NLCS Game 2 starting pitcher was Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks was born on 12/7/89. 12+7+89=108.

There's more but that's all I recall from the news story I heard this morning.

All the "108" superstitions aside, it looks like the Cubs will lose.
A 1-3 deficit is an astronomical hill to climb.
Just wait 'till next century.

I think Francona is out-managing Madden. But it also looks as if the pressure has really caught up with the very young Cubs team.
The Indians' pitching has been deadly, but the Cubs have faced terrific pitching before.
I hope it goes seven, but fear it won't go back to Cleveland at this rate.

^^^^I think this is a very sober, and unfortunately accurate, assessment.
I'm going to my first World Series game tonight, after receiving an ' offer I couldn't refuse...'
I'll let you guys know my impressions tomorrow, but the results should speak for themselves. Have a look for me behind the Indians' on-deck circle: I'll be the guy with the S&W hat !!!

Francona pretty much always out manages Maddon.
I don't follow the Indians on a regular basis, but missing their two top starters was supposed to make the Indians easy pickings in the playoffs. Not so much as they swept the Red Sox in 3 and then took only 5 games to beat the Jays.
One of the reasons that Francona got Napoli and Crisp is that they are both veteran players and have been in playoff and Word Series games. They are both good club house guys, along with Ross. The Cubs have guys who have been there as well, but I don't think they have the same value as position players in terms of club house leadership.
I think it might go 6, but wrapping it up tonight in Chicago would not surprise me at all.
