My Stupid Question Of The Day
I have only sold two guns in my life and sometimes, or most of the time, I wish I never sold them. But I been thinking I may want to sell a S&W revolver I own. Now come part two of the stupid question. If I post it for sale on this site and someone wants it how do I make the transaction? Do I just take to to my LGS and the buyer gets it from them? The only two guns I ever sold were friends and coworkers at the PD.

It goes to your ffl and he needs a copy of the buyers ffl license. Both exchange copies of there ffl, payment is made, gun is f sent.

Well first however it is you do it in NJ. That your law and you follow that. Second if someone here buys it you have it shipped to their LGS. Typically your LGS can ship for a fee.
Is there a permit they have to fill out first? You would have to ask you PD or gun store since your state is a little bit anal with that. Here in Pa, we show up to the gunstore and 5 min later I have the gun and you have the money. Every state is different

Listen to yourself (bold quote). I've sold several guns over the years, and have regretted every one of the sales later. The one S&W revolver I sold (ten years ago), I just managed to replace recently; for the same quality gun, it cost me almost twice what I sold the first one for.

Simple, in NJ buyer must have a pistol permit, fill it out, buyer and seller get a copy, copy to SP, and copy to Township, done. Out of state, must ship to buyers FFL once you have the money.

This would indicate that unless you need money REALLY bad, don't sell the S&W, especially since it's a revolver. You'll just end up spending more down the road to replace it.

If that was your stupid question for yesterday, what's your stupid question for today?
Sorry, I admit, my sense of humor is terribly warped and gets me in trouble..... a lot.
