I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks like that.
I went to my foot specialist and found out I need surgery on my left foot. (too many right turns?) Doc says 12 week recovery.
Upon leaving the office, the receptionist asked me when I wanted to schedule the surgery for. I said "Just before Christmas so I don't have to see my in laws this year" Lots of laughs in the office and waiting area, then the lady behind me in line tapped me and said "I was thinking of doing the same thing" with a big smile. The guy behind her was smiling and nodding in approval. That's life.

I just got home from foot doctor, had to have the nail on my big toe taken off and a bad infection scooped out. Definitely no fun. Good luck on the surgery moosedog. (I had ankle surgery last Dec 20th, spent Christmas and New Years eve in the hospital)

Had a big toe nail removed a while back.
Not one of my finest moments.
Regret to report, My in laws are both gone.
They were some of the finest people that I ever had the pleasure to meet.
They always treated me with respect and I always enjoyed being around them.

Trust me, you are lucky to have in laws like that. When I told my wife what I was planning, she said it sounded good because then she would have to stay here and take care of me instead of holiday get together with her brother and sister.
Now my mother in law, she is a sweet heart and also finds the holidays more stressful each year.
A wise man (or woman) once said, "You can pick your friends, but not your family."
