Default JUST HAD A WEEK FROM HELL!

This past week was very trying to say the least. First when I opened up my pool I discovered that my 13 year old Loop-Loc cover had disintegrated stitching and the seams were all opening up. At first my plan was to make repairs by reinforcing and riveting them but after a realistic look and evaluation I knew it was history. OK - 13 years is a good run for a pool cover and so no surprises - it's just hard to swallow the BIG BUCKS for a new one!

While taking the cover off (somewheres around 250 pounds) I blew my back out! That was a 3 day disaster and I am still not feeling great yet - but slowly improving.

On Wednesday my wife comes home and informs me her car's AC unit no longer cooled - checked the pressure but discovered it wasn't low freon, the Compressor went. I ordered a new factory OEM unit and will install it next week. Again, not the end of the world by itself, just more fuel on the fire. Then when starting up the pool filter I noticed that the Multi-port valve was cracked. It was only a month over the 1 year warranty and they would do nothing at all. The price this year is almost double of what I paid for the same unit last year.

On Tuesday June 1st I have to bring my Yukon into the Body Shop because some Bozo backed into my vehicle while it was parked in a spot - in fact the ONLY occupied spot in the entire lot! I tried to warn him but he was not paying attention to me as I was standing in front of his pick up and he was looking rearward - he stated. How he didn't see a Yukon sizes vehicle is beyond me! I was not in the vehicle so his Ins. Co is footing the whole thing - he was 100% at fault - just annoying and totally unnecessary!

Needless to say I hope the coming week brings MUCH better luck!

When it rains it pours doesn't it.
I feel your pain almost in a literal sense. I have been dealing with sciatica all week. Very little sleep, severe pain and leg cramps and taking all kinds of pills for one thing or the other.
Give us strength to endure.

Sorry to hear about your back. I know medical issues are never pleasant. Glad to hear it is getting better.

I have a friend that always tells me:

"IF MONEY CAN FIX IT THEN IT ISN'T SO BAD."

Now through multiple health issues I can assure you there is some truth in those words.

Just be thankful you have a pool that needs a new cover and vehicles that need repairs. And oh yeah, the"Bozo" had insurance.

Hope your week gets better.

At least you don't have to buy the pool cover until fall, and the Yukon damage is on somebody else . . .

My mom said there would be times like that and those that are worse.

My uncle said real problems can't be fixed with money.

as stated "Just be thankful you have a pool that needs a new cover and vehicles that need repairs. And oh yeah, the"Bozo" had insurance."

Look after your back

I worked with a number of guys who “blew out their back”. Every one of them has rods and pins holding it together.

I hope you don’t get in that position, it’s a life changer.

On the flip side ..... you have a house, a pool, a wife, a Yukon and insurance. Life’s good.

The rest are just minor annoyances.

When I read the thread title I thought you were at death's door or a
tornado had taken everything you owned. Then I find it's just these
every day minor problems.
We moved from a place years ago that had a large pool, I swore I would
never have another. You can still drive a car without AC, even if it isn't
the most comfortable thing in the world.

I try to live by the motto " If this is the worst thing to happen to me today , it's been a good day ." Most of the time , it's true .

Got a pool, and I assume a house that goes with it. Have more than one car, even though they both need some repairs. And you are healthy enough to be moving something that weighs over 200 pounds.

There are folks that would give anything to be in that situation.

Count your blessings, sir.

Pfffft. Not much to complain about.

My youngest son just informed us that his job is being transferred to tennafreakingsee. He was my fishing buddy, and my hunting and shooting companion. Now, nobody left to go to camp with.

Ffft there too.

My oldest son just informed us that he has congestive heart failure and he may not outlive us.

Sooooo, no matter how trivial or bad you may have it, it could also be worse.

My sympathies to you and I truly hope tomorrow will be better for you.

I know it won't be better for me.
