Liquidation/Moving Sale
I'm moving and downsizing and generally starting over. In doing so, I would like to sell my entire pistol collection (7 guns). I'm looking for advice on how to get the best price given a reasonably big constraint - I'd like to spend as little time as possible doing this. I would like to just drop them off at the pawn shop but that's just stupid financially speaking. It would be great if I could find one person who would give me a fair price and be done with it. Since I am getting rid of my pistols, I also would have no need to keep the ammo. A couple of the guns are special and the rest are pretty basic. I'd be looking to get a good price but understand that I'm not going to get what I've got into them given my desire for a single/simple transaction.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to make something like this happen?

In your shoes, I would probably find a busy local gun shop, and let him sell them there, on commission. You just pick up the checks as they sell. Better than just selling outright to the shop, who will give you about half of what they are worth. Its tough to find one person who will buy the entire collection, unless they are a group of particularly desirable pieces, or a buyer with $$ has the same, exact tastes as you..

You could post and sell them on the WTS/WTT Guns section here, epically if there are some desirable S&W's. Even the non S&W one may sell here also. All you would have to do is drop them off at a FFL and have them shipped.
List them, give it a week or so, and if they don't sell then take them to a gun shop.

Thanks. I like the idea of consignment. I also have thought of posting on this board. I don't like the idea of having to pay an FFL for 7 title transfers though so I've thought about restricting it to someone in Michigan with a CPL so I could just fill out the forms and be done with it. Appreciate the ideas.

You can always use this forum and simply state that buyer pays all fees. If it's a good enough deal you won't have any problem with that.

If you don't already belong, you could join the Michigan Gun Owners forum and sell them there. That way you'd be selling to Michigan residents, and a large percentage of people on that forum have their carry permit, which means you can just down load the form, fill it out and you're done.
