Good evening:
Last Friday, I was surfing the internet and saw on the Tex Vet website that the Great State of Texas offers a free Super Combo Hunting and Fishing License for qualified disabled veterans with a 50% (or greater) disability rating.
The Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. (TPWD) website has always indicated the disability rating had to be 60% or greater. I sent an email to TPWD to get clarity on this, and had a response within 30 minutes. TPWD indicated their information was in error, the qualifying disability rating is actually 50% (or greater):
Combination Hunting & Fishing Licenses — Texas Parks & Wildlife Department
TPWD indicated they would correct the information on their website, and they did. I am very surprised and pleased with the responsiveness of TPWD staff. Also, guess who gets a "free" TX Super Combo Hunting and Fishing License this year?
I hope others will benefit from this information.
Best regards,
Dave
