Logan's Roadhouse Bankruptcy Filed
Just heard on the news, Nashville Based Logan's Roadhouse (now owned by Cracker Barrel) has filed for bankruptcy. Closing at least 18 of thier 256 restaurants around the country, to start with. The CEO has resigned.
For causal dining restaurant, I like it. Nothing fancy, but always pretty good food and OK service. At least in my area. But I would hope so, being that Nashville is its corporate headquarters. But if they close all of em in my area, I won't loose any sleep over it!!
I sure would've liked to have the CEO's salary, for the last few years? And no telling what kind of pension and benefits package he'll be taking with him? Even after resigning?
Oh well, there's always Taco Bell's flat bread steak sandwich, if I'm in the mood for steak! Yuck! That's just plain nasty.

We go to one local to us and are happy with it, but on the flipside, that is a competitive market. If not Logan's, there's Outback and Longhorn. Then all the other casual dining places that you can get a reasonable steak at too.

Longhorn is miles ahead of Logan's in my opinion. I can't remember ever leaving a Logan's Roadhouse and being glad I ate there.

Never heard of it but I've been to a lot of corporate restaurants and I never ate or drank anything to make me want to go back. There are plenty of good local places

I actually like Outback better than most. I DO NOT like Chilii's. And we have a Applebee's just two miles from the house. And we like it ok. But every time we go, the menu has changed. You get used somethings you like. Poof, it's gone or the price went up. And I agree it is a very competitive market. We did have a Ryan's close by, but it didn't last long. It so crouded we hated goiin and on Sunday, there was a two hour wait. Then it just got nasty. I guess the franchise owners just milked the profits and didn't keep up the building! Same thing with our Ponderosa, it started off like a bang, but food kept getting worse and the servers were rude and the service was horrible.
But really never had a issue with Logan's.

There was a Logan's near me when I lived in OKC. If they do go under it's no great loss. I don't remember ever being impressed with the food...

Who cares? As long as Cracker Bbl stays open, I could care less. That chicken fried chicken is to die for, better than anything at LSH.

Been to the one in Peoria IL. Good food but ok service. One time service was so poor I walked into the kitchen with our drink glasses and still I had to ask/tell them to fill them.

We have a Logan's in El Paso and I eat there fairly often. But my daughter gave me a gift card for Texas Roadhouse and I had supper there today. I think my days of going to Logans are over.

Their ribs are the best! We sometimes go about 30 miles to our closest one and we each get a full rack of ribs, eat half there and bring the other half home and eat em later that night. And I ask for some take home rolls. And I make lil rib meat sliders.
I'd like to try out their steaks, but every time we go their I say I'm going to try their steak or something else. When we pull in the parking, I smell the ribs. And never order anything else.
And I also LOVE their sweet baked potato and the side salad.
I'm glad there's not one close. If eat there 2-3 times a week?

After I had to get up and refill my own water glass TWICE, I left a quarter for a tip. (I was going to leave a nickle but my wife talked me into a quarter.) I hung back a little on leaving to see the waitress's reaction. She was pissed. I don't think she had a clue as to why she got the tip she did.

One thing I love about Outback's(the one near me, at least!)is that they will still make combo's that are no longer offered on the menu. For instance, the flame broiled chicken breast & half rack of baby back ribs...delicious!

There's at least a half dozen steak houses within about 5 miles of my home. I've been to Logan's, but it been a while. I can't remember either the food or service being bad. But I wasn't impressed enough to go back.

Never been to a Logan.
Looks like closest one is either Amarillo or El Paso.
Also looks like they are losing a lot of money!

I have eaten at the Logans in Columbus, GA a bunch n the last three or four years, mostly because it is convenient to all the other places in Columbus that I go to. The Texas Roadhouse in Columbus serves a much better steak, but it would usually involve an extra 30 minutes or so of driving.
My daughter and had a great steak at Texas Roadhouse in MaConGA Saturday night. I just haven't been pleased with Outback in recent years.
I usually buy Certified Angus steaks from a couple of sources, and cook them myself. Those are the best.
The most disappointed I have ever been in a steak was at the YO Steak House in Dallas, Texas. It wasn't bad, but I was primed up for something extra special, and it just wasn't.

In my neck of the woods we don't have any major restaurants just the big act joints Micky D's, Burger King, Wendy's, Jimmy Johns, Cousins Subs, Subway. The restaurants are small local, some good, a couple better and the bad ones don't stay open long. When we travel we stop at Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, WHen we get to where we are going I like to eat at the local Mom and Pop places, I think better food , better prices, better service. My brothers will take us out for dinner and it's Out Back or Texas Road House, the chain places. The food Is normally pretty good the service is slow and the wait staff act like they are doing you a favor if you as for water or a refill on tea. Not a big city try of guy, closest big city Is Marquette MI or Green Bay WI.

We have one about 7 or 8 miles from me in a neighboring town. Been there once but wasn't that impressed with it. We have at least three other as good if not better places closer to me. Did not know they were owned by Cracker Barrel. We have a Cracker barrel in the same are as the Logan's and we sometimes go there for lunch after Church on Sunday. Like them quite well; love their blackberry pancake breakfast.

2) Longhorn Steak House.
3) Logan's
I won't miss Logans.
Been a while since Outback so didn't include.

My favorite chain is "Avery's". It's a one link chain, and Avery owns the joint and cooks there. My girlfriends mom has been waiting tables there for 20 years.

The only good one on that list-speaking locally-is Roadhouse. Logans closed and ill never go to Longhorn again. Our local Outback--is rapidly going downhill and Fuddruckers is actually improving.

We use to always eat on Sunday night at the Logans in Clarksville after being at Talladega. I really like that place. They built one locally and I don't care for it. All concrete and very noisy.
I like Texas Road House and we have a Lone Star that has some good steaks.

Ate at Cahoun's in Pigeon Forge, they had some fantastic steaks!
When traveling with my Motorhome I always look for a Cracker Barrel, decent food and breakfast plus they let you park there overnight!

There's a Longhorn and a Logan's in this county only 100 or so yards apart. Always plenty of parking available at Logan's.

Those three are pretty well indistinguishable from each other, in my opinion. Outback far superior, but pricier . . .

only was at at longhorns a few years back....
steak was not very good , never went back . same for outback .
have eaten at texas roadhouse several times over the years and it has been very good . about a month ago tried the ribs ... WOW ! if you have not had them you are in for a super treat . have been to webers grill in indy and its a great place to eat . i little pricey but consistently good . their backyard brew from goose island in chicago is super. but the roadhouse ribs are as good as webers which surprised me.
we have a cracker barrel and it also is very good . believe i prefer bob evans if i had to pick one of those two. if you haven't tried thee broasted chicken at bob evens ... well it also is a great treat !

We like Logan's but......
....our place is always PACKED. So much that you need to plan to go in off times. I don't suppose ours will be the one closing down. One thing I don't like is that it's crowded and loud. If I want quiet I spend more money and go to Longhorns.

The best steak house that I go to is mine! New York strip from Costco, grilled to perfection with great sides from my "Friday Night Steak Night" gal of 39 years.
The guy who grills the steak always provides a full pour on the Pinot Noir or the cab. The optional drink is the bourbon or whisky of your choice over as much or as little crushed ice as one may want.
The entertainment system is always on the right station. I can imbibe as much as I will allow myself and do not have to drive home!
See ya Logans!
