Well a SBH 10 1/2'' with cast bullets 250 grain SWC My Contender in 22kK Hornet will shoot 3 shot groups under 3/4'' at 100 yards. Not bad for someone who will turn 60 in November.

There are people with scoped M41s that can keep about a 1 moa group at 100 yards with Tenex and no wind.

I would think, assuming a good trigger and carefully loaded ammunition that the .44 is capable if the marksman is.

A 2" group with any handgun at 100 yards is an outstanding shot with premium ammo. It would put you in the top 1% of handgun shooters.

I have shot 1/2" groups at 50 yds with my Super 14 Contender 30-30. I have not tried it at 100 yds.

I did shoot a 8" group at 300 yds with my 10 1/2" SBH .44 mag. This was with open sights on a sand bag. I would think that with a scope, a smaller group would be possible.

There's a forum member who claims such prowess at such distances. I'm sure he'll be around shortly. My goal is 2" groups at 10 yards . . .

While 2" at 100 yards is doable and a noble goal, be satisfied with 3 or even 4 inches. After all, that's about the size of a deer's heart, which will accomplish what you need.

When I was younger and a lot steadier, I shot a 10 shot group at 100 yards with my XP100 221 Fireball and Leupold 2x pistol scope that could be covered with a quarter. That target was in the top of my tool box for years until it somehow got 'lost'.
