Will be in Tucson, AZ for a few days on business soon. Any required restaurants or gun shops? Thank you in advance. Rick

For Mexican food, which Tucson is noted for, I recommend "El Charro" at 311 N Court Ave.

Seems about half of my family have left CA for AZ but they are all up in the Prescott Valley area. But they are NOT the CA libs!

I was stationed there 20+ years ago so I'm sure it has changed quite a bit since then. I do remember Mt Lemmon was nice to see

As I have posted several times, I love the Pima Air Museum.
And that's where you buy tickets and board the bus to tour the Boneyard.

Yeah it is.
It's like Phoenix's pot head liberal little sister.
You know the one, she'll show up on Thanksgiving stoned, smelling of cat pee and marijuana, complaining about everything, and bring a Tofu casserole that no one will eat!

That's not really cat pee and pot, it's patchouli oil. Either way, it stinks.

You get enough free time, come on up to Florence, we'll take you out and let you play with a few NFA toys and maybe a BBQ.

There are excellent Mexican restaurants everywhere around Tucson.
I can't exactly give you precise coordinates, but when you see one you like the looks of, just go in and give it a try.
Most of the time the food is between very good to excellent.

I moved away in '84 but still go back, a lot. El Torero in South Tucson was always our family favorite for food but as mentioned already you can't miss a good restaurant if you tried.
Graduated from both Rincon High School and the U of A. Worked in the area for a while. Lived across the street from Linda Ronstadt's parents my senior year at the U of A. Her brother Peter was chief of Tucson PD when I moved away, I wasn't on the pd.
Frontier was always a neat place, especially for older stuff. The shop we dealt with has been gone a long time after some family issues with the owners surviving children-Jensen's Custom Ammo on Pima. 99% of the area leos bought their guns there. As I said I left in '84, it was still open in '92 when my dad passed, used them to transfer his guns to my local ffl at the time.
Murphy's was also a hole in the wall when I left but he grew the shop and always seems to have some great stuff.
Do not miss the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Watch the sunset from Gate's Pass.

The Congress Hotel
While in town, you might want to try the Congress Hotel for breakfast, the wife and I try to go whenever we are there. It's a funky little place that has history, John Dillinger and his gang was arrested there way back when.
History of Hotel Congress - Hotel Congress
Lots of things to do other than eating (and there are lots of great restuarants), here's a couple suggestions:
Don't forget the Old Tucson Movie Studio's, lots of western movie history, many of John Wayne's movies were made there. It's a bit of a tourist place, but again if you like Rio Bravo, El Dorado, etc., there are plenty of things to remind you of those great films....
Old Tucson | Old Tucson Films
If you are going to have access to shooting irons, I've shot at the Tucson Mountain Park range and the Southeast Regional Park range several times and they are great.
If you have time to drive around, try the Saguaro National Park, it's close to the Old Tucson Movie studios and the visitor center there is excellent.

Thank you, I am staying near Saguaro (Sunset or Sunrise), so that park was great. Will look at the mentioned gun shops if possible for tomorrow. The business program takes care of the meals (I think I had my weight in bacon today, so I probably will not get to a restaurant until Wednesday). Thank you.
