[QUOTE=ladder13;142041839]One of the BIL’s is into Bonzai trees. His backyard has a lot of them.

I am attracted to the bonsai look and have spent hours studying
types of tiny trees and techniques. So far I've found too many
other things to keep me busy.

Your brother-in-law must not live in a windy place. I can't imagine
his attractive arrangement of bonsai trees surviving Wyoming's winds.

As Lord Bowen quipped, "The rain, it raineth on the just / and also on the unjust fella. / But chiefly on the just because / the unjust steals the just's umbrella"

No idea who made this but it's clever. "Spare spanner art"

Edit: Found it on Google Images: FB page (public) for "M. C. Machine Co., Inc., Hopedale, MA."

Default Perseid meteor shower captured over Stonehenge

From the BBC:

A photographer has said it was an "immense privilege" to have his image of a meteor shower recognised as Nasa's astronomy picture of the day.

Somerset photographer, Josh Dury, took the shot on Friday as the Perseid meteor shower streaked through the sky above Stonehenge in Wiltshire.

Mr Dury also captured the central band of the Milky Way galaxy running nearly vertical through the centre of the image...

Here's the NASA article with explanation. Pic is a composite of 43 images.

Saw these in a secondhand store in Bellingham WA today.

This swamp cooler was apparently from a guy that had moved up from Texas and wanted to clear out his storage shed. Rarely gets hot enough here to get this behemoth running.

I have no idea what this is but I wa pretty sure I didn't need one, even for $5. Adjustable semi-concentric back scratcher? (If it's something that's been on your wish list for ages, it's at Penny Pinchers Estate Sales.)

That implement is for brushing out your various farm animals, e.g., a horse.
Or maybe a close friend with a hairy back? …….You had it right from the start.

I figured it had to be some kind of animal brush or comb but the spring adjustment had me baffled.

I have no friends - at least of the human variety - that I'd want to use it on, though

We called it a curry comb. Used for grooming horses. They enjoyed it, too.

EDIT - missed the post above for some reason.

This is the third morning in a row The Kid (Smudge) has gone out for breakfast, although he comes indoors to eat it. To his credit, he does leave a very clean plate.... er... carpet.

OMG.
Parasol Wing, twin pusher?
When I researched, it appears to be a Lockwood AirCam.
This dude had a Tesla Pickup over at the side of his hanger.
Yes, plugged in.

Speaking of weird things I saw today-
Besides the weird airplane, I saw a Jet Powered Glider.
Here is that Kerosene Machine.

I gathered papers destined for the shredder.

Mufasa had another plan.

Default Garden genetics

My biologist/geneticist gf grows a lot of food in her garden, much of it in raised beds. I previously posted (#6775) one of her "tactical zucchini." She also grows lemon cucumbers in the same bed and are producing "zucchumbers." (As yet untasted.)
