By the responses so far, it would seem that the "Noes" have won the day on that question. I imagine a scene in a movie where this is brought out, with a quick cut to all the real pizzerias in Little Italy hurriedly slamming their doors shut in protest.

No offense intended to your friend, but.....

That appears to be lox, cream cheese, cukes, onion and capers. If that is the case then I would give it a go. Just looks like a loaded flat bagel.

"Good morning, FedEx. Could you tell me what it would cost to ship a large pizza-thingy from NY to Cincinnati?"

LOL, kinda thought so, especially since lox is usually an acquired taste, and it's simply not found in much of the country.
Of course, calling it a pizza is just a bit of fun. It's more like a 16" flat bagel with fixins.

She said that it's the recipe from Rachel Ray, although my friend obviously used a way higher ratio of Lox than the recipe called for.

It looks like we're in for another beautiful day and I can't think of a better
place for it to start than right here in Sam Stowe Canyon.

I like my Lox at 130*

Cooking the salmon at high pizza temps will work for those that don't
know any better or have lots of beer to wash it down.

Where is the fresh Dill ?? !!

Sigh... Thanks for the eye candy. Rocketed up to 50º here (after barely 40º yesterday and dark, with incessant drizzle) so I headed for the range as I figured this might be my last chance for quite a while. More "atmospheric storms" on the way in the PNW into next week, with a first-ever "Red Alert" for weather conditions on our side of the border. I'm safe up here on the mountain but the folks down by the border who have already been devastated by the Nooksack River flooding are in for another nail-biter. Hard to believe that just under 6 months ago it hit 103º and an estimated ~600 folks died.

It got to 114 here that day. I thought I would die. Will get an AC unit in the spring.

I don't know where you're located, but i'm glad I'm not there, climactically speaking anyway.

I'm planning to put in an "earth tube" for cooling next summer. Basically about 100' of 6" drain pipe buried about 4' down, where the earth temp. is about 55-58º according to some experiments I did this summer. I'll trench it in up to the house, then put an adjustable low-speed fan in and some 6" metal duct under the stairs to a central location. Tbe pipe will be on a slope into the north field and have a drain at the end for whatever moisture may result from condensation as the air travels up the line. Should draw very little power and require no compressors. It's a "bit of a project" but if it keeps the daytime temps down to the mid-70s or so when it's over 90 outside, it'll have been worth it. We may well not get over 100º again but the predictions are that hotter than normal summers are now likely so I want to be proactive.

So I’m driving up a nearby State Highway out in the Boonies.
And I need to go.
Behind a bush? No problemo!
There’s a pull off.
I see a well traveled path. Likes like folks have been here.
Walk between some Junipers and look down.
Jump Back! Rattlesnake!
Take a closer look .
Dummy Snake! What the!
Welcome to NM!

It’s got some serious looking Running Gear!
Anybody know what’s in the PVC pipes on the front?

Searching for horns in the NC woods. Saw a spike, not a shooter.

Forgot, we did see a bald Eagle flying away from us in the distance. That thing had a huge wingspan.

Anybody know what’s in the PVC pipes on the front?
Don't know what the current owner of that Pinzgauer keeps in those jerry-rigged PVC pipes, but I can tell you what the OEM design purpose was of those tube holders on the front.

It's intent was to hold the Geroh 6m telescopic antenna mast.

The antenna maker, Geroh, is now called Will-Burt.

Photo from last night's German military ceremony called Großer Zapfenstreich, which was performed to honor Chancellor Merkel at the end of her 16 years leading the country.

Default The Amazon box cat challenge

I finally got across the line to visit my gf in Bellingham WA yesterday, now that the PCR test on returning has been lifted. As is sometimes the case, the house was strewn with Amazon boxes ("for the benefit of the cats" was the official explanation.)

There are clearly "cat people" in Amazon's Marketing Dept., as some boxes now come with this message:
If you think you're excited,
wait 'til your cat sees this box.

Izzie (20 lbs.) was up to the challenge and has rendered his verdict: "A little too small".
