Default I TOOK A SHOOTING LESSON

Bob instructed me in sporting clays and trap. With my new Citori 725 Sporting O/U shotgun. I was shooting poorly prior to instruction. 14 out of 25 in trap. My coach, with a few miner adjustments helped me get back to the 23 out of 25 range. I have never taken a lesson in my life at anything, skiing, golf, tennis. To proud... It only cost $60 bucks. So happy I picked up the pointers from my instructor.

You are lucky you have a good training coach available. We all rely on our buddies and we're never sure the critique we get is that good.

I pretty sure the best in the world at any sport have coaches (instructors). The shooters that I've shot with that don't believe in coaches have all been dud shooters.
It sounds as if you have found a good coach. Hang in there and you will soon be shooting straights. Larry

The hardest thing is to continue to do what the instructor taught you... three weeks later!

There is a married couple on the Clays circuit around here. She always wins the ladies class, if it is at her home course and the instructor is just outside the shooters box telling how to engage the birds! Any other course she comes in last or next to last.

Let your coach adjust your issues, then practice. Then let him adjust the next one or two issues, then practice. You get the picture!

Two things to remember; 1) There will ALWAYS be someone out there that is better than you! 2) We are suppose to have fun aren't we?

Ivan

Ahhh, going from shooting disappointment to happiness in one day is a beautiful thing.

Hubby was so disappointed in his trap (3 or 4 out of 25) that he stopped shooting with me. I begged him to try again, but this time got him to adjust his stance. He immediately started hitting 22 to 24 of 25 and loves it now, and I have my shooting buddy back.

Tried trap shooting last year;scores below 10.Of course, fellow shooters would joke about it but that's not the worst part of it.I could swear I was hearing the clay pigeons I missed laugh at me all their way!Now that hurts!

Do yourself a favor and get Lee Braun's books on trap and skeet shooting. While they have been out of print, check ebay from time to time.
