Between 3&4 weeks ago I woke up and was sitting on the side of the bed and looked across the room at the blinds and there was a definite little curve in a spot and it moved as I turned my head. I washed my eyes and put drops in my eyes and looked again, same curve. I knew immediately what it was. My mother went blind with it back in the early eighties. I called my eye Doc and got in that same afternoon. He confirmed my suspicions and walked me down to a Retina Specialist in the same building and got me in that afternoon and was rechecked and got a shot in my eye.

I go back Monday for another shot and so far the curve hasn't gotten any bigger and really does not bother me very much. The Specialist said to wear good sunglasses when out, keep the blood pressure down and keep the eyes moist. I thank the Good Lord for Doctors who care and those that came up with the shot

You did the right thing, I'm in the same boat in my left eye. I have gotten 6 shots, started out every 4 weeks and now up to 6 weeks per shot. They are working for me, am at maybe 95% recovered and my eyesight got better, sharper at a distance. I hope you will recover as I have. Good luck!

One doctors instruction that I forgot to mention was to take a good eye vitiman. I had been taking ICaps but I changed to PreserVision that had more of the needed contents.

it wasn't hereditary for me, my eye was cut in a fight several years ago and i noticed a humped curve in straight objects about 2.5 years ago. i've been getting the shots for over 2 years now. the numbing process doesn't seem to help much on me, shots are extremely painful but my vision has definitely improved so i will continue with the shots.

I give myself a shot in alternating legs every other week for RA. I can't imagine shots in the eye. But if it works, you gotta do it. Too early to tell if shots are working for me but as the slogan goes; "Better living through chemistry".

At least now, I'm off the Prednisone. That stuff can destroy body parts and my heart rate has dropped significantly--Almost in half! That took a lot of pressure off my heart too since I also have an aortic valve murmur.

Well, enough of this. Let's get back to shooting!

Sad

I am indeed saddened at your plight and I wish you a full recovery. Good that you immediately sought medical assistance.

Lately I have found herbals and natural plants can have an astounding effect on all types of health problems without the drastic side effects of prescription drugs.
I just recently had to go on BP meds for high blood pressure. I was put on a prescription and within a week I started having edema in my foot. I searched for side effects of my BP prescription and sure enough there was edema of foot, ankle and calf as side effects.
Earlier searching I found olive leaf extract has a multitude of uses for improved health. It can have good results for high sugar, blood pressure and circulation and gout among other health issues. The search said taking OLE while taking BP meds can cause the BP to be to low. I had been taking the OLE once a day while on the BP meds.
When I had the side effects from the BP meds I quit taking it and doubled up on my OLE. Just over one day my foot edema went down and my BP was good using only the OLE. I so hate taking prescriptions because of the side effects. OLE has no known side effects and OLE has had much research proving so as well.
