Believer in prayers
I am a big believer in prayers! That has definitely come in handy during the last year. I had rectal cancer surgery in January of this year after going through weeks of pill form chemo and radiation. After some recovery, I went through weeks of IV chemo. While recovering from that, I had a CT scan that showed the cancer was gone! I thought things were going to be "gravy" after that, but that has not been the case. I have had problems with blood clots in my right leg, bleeding in my temporary ostomy bag that I have dealt with since surgery, and now, maybe spinal stenosis.
I have a MRI scheduled for Monday to find out what the cause of my weeks long back pain. I have never had back pain before and it is getting almost impossible to walk without severe pain, hence the worry of spinal stenosis. Then, on Wednesday, I am scheduled to have ostomy bag reversal surgery. I have been looking forward to that since my original surgery for the rectal cancer. I should be in the hospital for 3-5 days if things go right. It will then be a 6-10 week recovery period.
It has been a long year!! If you are of the mind, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! The more.....the better, as I see it. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. At times, I thought it might be a train heading my way! I really enjoy this forum and made lots of "internet friends" here and look forward to contributing for years to come! Thanks.
Larry

I will keep you in my thoughts.
Regarding spinal stenosis, it's actually fairly common as we age, and your doctor(s) should advise you of that. An MRI can help pinpoint where the nerve compression is taking place. The good news is that stenosis is treatable through various methods. So I'm fairly confident your doctor can recommend a course of treatment...or much more likely, refer you to a spinal specialist. Physical therapy may be recommended, or injections (I've had this done), or even surgery. My thinking for me personally is that surgery would be the last resort.
Anyway, good luck, and I'll hope for positive resolutions of all your medical issues.

Larry, you have my thoughts and prayers. Life can be so tough. I have a very close friend who has gone thru similar circumstances for years. Last year he almost died, his children got him the proper care thru no small effort and he is now in better health than he has been in many years. I wish you the very best.

Larry I will be praying for you and a great outcome. I've been to Hell
and back myself, so I know what you mean about the light at the end
of the tunnel. 5 heart attacks including the one just this past April,
and prostate cancer. I thought I saw a guy in red long underwear
holding a pitchfork down by a little camp fire in the light at the end
of the tunnel. So I just prayed it wasn't who I thought it was, and
is wasn't.
I absolutely know prayer work so I will be sending some for you.
Best wishes.

I will certainly pray for your complete recovery and relief from any pain while walking or otherwise.
I, too, understand the light at the end of the tunnel, which sometimes turns out to be the headlamp of a train coming at you).
But He has it all under control even when we don't seem to have a clue.

When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song
Of the lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed, and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone, you'll never walk alone.
When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song
Of the lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed, and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone, you'll never walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone, you'll never walk.
You'll never walk alone.
Psalm 116:3-4
"The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Lord, save me!”
Romans 10:13
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Larry, I am by all means "of a mind" to offer prayers on your behalf as you continue to confront such challenges, and you can count on your name being added to my list. Like the Good Book says, "We are fearfully and wonderfully made," meaning not that we are afraid but that we are created by the most awesome power we can imagine, and then some. You have faced your most recent health issues bravely and gracefully, keeping your focus on the healing power that is one of His greatest blessings to us. No pain, no dysfunction, no disease comes from Him, only from the natural stuff of which we are made that sometimes breaks down. What He provides is the healing of those things, sometimes in ways we do not understand, but rest assured that He is watching over you and has your cares in His hands. God bless and keep you!

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-15

Prayer sent for your relief.
I started with back pain several years ago and after an MRI was told by a colleague " you've got an old looking back", then gave me a couple of epidural injections with little to no relief. From his comments I assumed I had an inoperable condition as surely a colleague would be more specific. I suffered increasing disability and was about ready for a wheelchair a year ago. I saw a neurologist and was quite open about my desperation. He repeated the MRI and discovered only one area of stenosis about 90 percent . I had surgery and hours afterward walked with relief. I take only 2 aspirin each morning now.
However, the delayed surgery caused probable permanent nerve damage causing weakness and I wobble in walking like I'm drunk.
I know you have been through an awful lot of "doctoring" , but if you have a good operable lesion don't waste time on injections and PT. And I am a physician who is not a surgeon.
Good Luck and God Bless.
