Are your favorite collectable guns like new or look like they've been used?
So far, I have not been motivated to acquire like new vintage guns.
My favorites look they they've been used but not abused.
YMMV

I like a bit of honest wear on a firearm. They seem more like old friends, like a worn broken in pair of boots.

I’ve had guns all the way from factory new to pretty beat up.
I usually never liked the beat up ones enough to keep them.

My collection runs the gambit. From 99.9% to the drug behind the car look. The drug behind the car look does suit a WWII 91/30 Mosin Nagant. All the dents and scrapes are history. No telling where they came from, perhaps Kursk or the steps to the Reichstag.

I have some of both. Some of the rare guns and older guns that I have are not perfect. Some, like my 1926 vintage 44 HE are just fun to shoot.
