S&WHF calendar, UPDATE
UPDATE 1-21-2018: It has been determined that there is not sufficient interest to warrant producing a calendar at this time. I sincerely appreciate all of the participation and the photos that were submitted. All photos will be sent to Bill Cross for possible future use by the S&WHF. Have a great 2018 everyone!
Bill Cross has agreed to offer the calendars for $20 each to see if this will help generate interest. Even though the poll still says $25, the price is now $20.
Not long ago I posted a call for high quality photos to be considered for use in producing a calendar to benefit the Smith & Wesson Historical Foundation. I received many great pictures of very nice guns. Thanks again to all of you who submitted them.
Given that the new year is approaching fast, the S&WHF Board of Trustees decided to wait on producing the calendar for 2018. If there is sufficient interest, the S&WHF may produce a calendar for 2019. This will give us more time to market and sell them. All profits from calendar sales will be used to help digitize and index the records of Smith & Wesson housed at the museum in Springfield, MA.
What we need to know now is how many people would buy one, or more? The price will be $20 each and includes shipping & handling. You can let us know how many you would purchase by responding to the poll above. Examples of the calendar design are below and will give you an idea of what they will look like. They will also include a fold-out poster of the cover gun, as shown in the examples.
Please answer the poll only if you would seriously be interested in buying a calendar. This information will be used to determine if we should produce the calendar and how many copies should be made.
You are welcome to continue submitting pictures, since we are no longer in a rush. The original call for photos and instructions for submitting photos are at the link below.
CALL FOR HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS FOR S&WHF CALENDAR
Example of possible calendar cover:
Example of possible calendar interior: (Information about each gun will be included. They will not all be engraved guns.)
Example of possible poster:
And just some of the non-engraved contenders:

Why is NONE missing?
While I'm sure that ivory grips, inlays and engraving are liked by many members here I'd prefer to see nice examples of just plain ole Carbonia Blue and unblemished Stainless Steel I can relate to.

Because "none" doesn't help us decide how many to print. Keep in mind that the images are just examples. There will be non-engraved guns in the calendar, too.

I'd absolutely buy at least one. Maybe two-- one for home, one for the office-- but "maybe two" wasn't an option. :-) I'd gladly pay in advance, if that helps you any.

I’ll buy one no matter what, but as others have alluded to, keep in mind that there are different kinds of S&W enthusiasts. Those engraved ones in the samples don’t do anything for me.
Some members here have posted great set-piece photos with Victory models or police guns and accompanying artefacts.
Of course I realize you depend on who actually provides pictures for publication. But if you get those, be sure to give them appropriate consideration.

That was the original intent, but we won't make that. So we are looking at making one for 2019, if the interest is sufficient.

Definitely! The examples happen to be of engraved guns, but not all of the guns in this calendar will be engraved. If this goes well, perhaps we can make calendars for law enforcement guns, semi-autos, J frames, etc.
I am not big on engraved guns either, but the engraving on the cover example blew my mind.
The bottom line is the calendar project depends entirely on if there is sufficient demand. There needs to be a good return on investment for the S&WHF for it to be worth the effort.

Having limited wall space, I'd rather something I could look at then put up.
You aren't taking my Gil Elvgren space!
An annual or monthly book of pictures would serve me better. Just food for thought.

None, $25 for a calendar is a little pricy in my opinion.

I agree, but it includes shipping and supports the great work the Foundation is doing. Sounds like a bargain for any S&W lover. To me, it's a lot more than a calendar.

Maybe the poll should ask what price would be appropriate. While I would like one, I wouldn't be tempted at $25. And apparently many others would not be either, else there would be a greater response.

The $25 is a donation, and the calendar is free. At least that's the way I look at the one I get from USA Shooting to support the Olympic shooters. And I usually give them $50 for one.

Probably the same people who don't feel it's necessary to donate to the forum either.

Bump for more responses. Even if the Foundation could sell them for less, it wouldn't be that much less. Using the charity commercial tactic, $25 is less than 7 cents per day for a year calendar.

The price has been lowered to $20 each. A price lower than that would not generate sufficient revenue to make this project worth the effort.
If anyone knows how I can edit the poll, please PM me. Thanks!

Per Lee, once a poll is posted, not even the super powers can do edits. It's a forum software safeguard to prevent tampering.
You might also want to post this (or a link to this post) in the S&WCA section of the forum.

Polls cannot be edited. Not even by me.
I suppose they did that because it should not be possible for a poll to be manipulated.

Sorry for being late to the party -- don't know how I missed this when posted earlier. I would happily purchase two at $20 each and would consider it a contribution to a worthy cause. And here's my vote for including some nice semi-autos in the mix.

Count me in...for at least three. This is a great cause, and between my office, home and two camps, I can use at lest three or four, and I might add that they would make great gifts!!
Best Regards, Les

Thanks Les, that's the spirit!
I want to encourage everyone to support this forum, the S&WCA, and the S&WHF. All three do a lot to support the S&W junkie. The knowledge made available to us all is well worth the investment.
