Glad to see he's doing fine . Between you and my calendar , it's got pics of Aussies , I'm frothing at the mouth to get Nahla a sister . You can't ask for a better dog , either as a pet or as a working dog . Once it gets cool here , I am going to get her into agility . That's where these dogs really shine . Or you can try dock diving , if he's into water .

Ours is a mix (well we have two, Addy is the follower) and Hollie is my wifes dog. Very loyal. We recently had surgery on her eyes, as she went blind and required drops 3x a day, which she hated now she is essentially pain free and no drops. The thought of a puppy has crossed my mind, but my wife says not right now ...
They are about 13 (Hollie on left) and 12 yrs old now

Quigley's left ear pricked last week and the right ear pricked yesterday.
So......my Ausie will have prick ears. Interesting how fast they do this.
His parents did not have prick ears.
Mother Nature is fascinating indeed!

After watching the Senate subcommittee hearings for the last two days, I figured I better put my time to better use so I made this video.
The shots are in chronological order from 7 weeks to 20 weeks. It's fun to watch him grow!
EDIT: SEE POST 61 BELOW..........................

Quigley is doing very well.
Gotta love a herder slash heeler. They can go from a loving "velcro" affectionate teddy bear pup to a vicious raging wolf, if need be, in .2 seconds. Amazing dogs.
I get a new surprise every day!

We had a weak moment and picked up another Aussie pup two weeks ago. I am pecking at the computer one handed so my wife can sleep in.
Aussies are great and worth the work.

Handsome little pup there!
Is it a tri or a bi color? Looks like I see a third color at the eyebrows.

We have had Red and Blue Merles in the past . I would call her a Bi color Red but there is a bit of tan here and there. We will see as she matures. So far a great pup.

He really lives up to his name if you are playing fetch with a branch and turn your back to him. When he returns he will hit you in your ankles with that branch at 40 miles per hour.
He’ll take you out with it. I won’t go in to the field with him unless I’m wearing tall boots and gloves. If you’re not playing fast enough, he will lunge for the branch in your hand and spin you around and take you down.
He is the most determined pooch I’ve ever dealt with. God help me, but I do love it so!
Pecked out on my iPhone.

Aussies
Nice Aussie pup. We sure have enjoyed ours. The first was truly the best dog ever. Sable was black lab x Aussie. We rescued her as well as our current full blood Aussie, Freckles. Enjoy!

Good for Quigley—sometimes it’s good for the bull to jump the fence! Tomcat Paws says “those dogs are so cute it make me want to hack up a hairball!”

Quigley is training very well. I would like to make him a Search and Rescue dog. He has the right stuff. We do hide and find drills with his toy and he finds it 100% of the time. Plus, he is very hot weather tolerant. Best of any dog that I've ever been around. I do love it so!

Here's a quick iPhone video of him working. No one has told him that Aussie's don't have a good nose (compared to hounds and birddogs). He won't return until he finds the hidden toy.
He has to work harder, but he has the right determination and heat endurance. He can work all day without a break. AMAZING dogs.

Wondering where he was . My two ( I have Nalas sister now ) are in scent class . No denying Aussies have a nose ! Their mother had another litter and she kept two . They were all so good , she had a rough time figuring which two to keep . She had an offer of $3000 for one of them , I'll let you figure out which one . If you get a chance , look up Bayou Aussies , that's where the stud came from .

Been a while since I've been around . Between my wife's cancer and my brush with the virus , things were hectic . I logged on for the first time in months last night and it didn't take long to get back in the swing of things . I saw this and it made my day . We have never owned a male but I for sure would take Quigley ! My girls turned 3 on the 22nd .Here's a pic of Nebula ( Nebbie ) after she won 4 ribbons at trick competition . There is one more , the professional level . If there's one thing I've learned about Aussies , it's they can do almost anything . If they want to .....

Here is Ralphie—an English Setter being spoiled into fancy store dog! He will hunt treats, his bed and his stuffed Pheasant!

No! Quigley will train him, not the other way round. Dave_n

Thanks so much for fixing that pic ! After all these years you'd think I could handle it but it's still beyond me . A little history ..... Her and her sister , my other Aussie , were born to a Champion . She won Best of Breed at Westminster 4 years ago . I got my one puppy and was happy . Then a little girl pushed Nebula off a grooming table and dislocated her hip . Any thoughts of her following her mother went out the window . I finally talked her owner out of her . She was happy that she was going to a loving " Dog " family . Besides , she received a beautiful red puppy from Bayou Aussies . She's turned into my constant companion , never leaving my side . She is also a certified therapy dog ,has her scent awards , and goes barn hunting ( chasing rats in a controlled environment ). But most of all , she's my girl , as I'm sure Quigley is your guy .

Nothing I love more than a dead game ratter! Teddy has gone gray around the muzzle these days—like me—but is always up for a rat chase.

We had an Aussie 15 years ago. She was awesome and very smart. It hurt so much when she died of cancer that I will not have another. She slept under my bed and gave a small growl when I said goodnight. Broke my heart when she went.
