Default Caffeine or decaf? Here's a compromise.

I found this at a thrift shop and actually like it. I didn't realize until my wife picked it up that it's better for a left hand hold. Yay!

Half a cup of caffiene! So is the half cup half full or half empty?

I have a better solution than that.
We mix ground regular and decaf in a sealed Tupperware container and brew "half-caf". That way I get to drink full cups, but don't get so wired on caffeine. Not as cute as your solution, but only a half cup of coffee isn't a viable solution for me either.

That cup is half full if it was a round cup it would be half empty.

Actually, it’s about two-thirds full, but if it were a round cup it would be two-thirds empty

I'd go for caffeine anytime. Or not drink it at all.

I'm not really sure if decaf is really healthier.

And, I don't like the stuff anyway.

Oh, BTW, I see no point in drinking coffee without caffeine and today I had four cups, I mean four half cups like this.

Like my FIL always says, I just drink one cup of coffee a day, but it's topped off regularly and I drink that one cup all day long. Only reason I don't drink it a lot close to bedtime is that doing so requires an extra trip to the little room during the night. That's the only reason it keeps me awake!

I use an insulated cup and even then, sometimes when I top it off, I reheat the coffee in the MW so it's good and hot again. Some days, I drink more and some days less, but it's still one cup and it's an all day long affair. Got no use for decaf at all. I agree with sheepdawg! It may kill me one of these days, but I'm gettin' to where I'm overdue for that according to all those younger than I am that I read about in the obits any time I care to take a look! Between that coffee and my other pacifier (long cut snuff or regular chewing tobacco) my GP gets apoplectic. Haven't had any negative effects from either and don't see a bit of sense quitting now! (If that 3 AM coffee in the all night truck stops back when I was handling late night crashes didn't kill me, I figure what I drink now probably won't. An old man has to cherish the many fewer pleasures that he can handle at this stage of his life!

Because I like the taste of beer but not the effects of alcohol.
I don't drink straight decaf though - it usually tastes lousy.
Half-caf still tastes like decent coffee. I usually drink about 12 cups a day - from get up in the morning to turn in for the night, I drink it all day. Been drinking it that way for 35 years. THAT much caffeine isn't good for me anymore. So I do the half-caf. I still get to drink as much as I want and I don't have the negative effects of caffeine overdose.

So if you had half-caf in that cup, would that make it quarter-caf?

How about this, a "pound" bag of coffee has shrunk to 13, not 16 oz.,
and a "cup" of Coffee is 6 fl oz not 8.

I have a large cup that I fill up twice first thing in the morning and without it I have a bad day.

Decaf is a) a crime against nature; b) a solution in search of a problem; c) what a Catholic friend used to say about some things - nearly a mortal sin;, and d) like sex in a canoe. No thanks. My sister makes that mixed abomination stuff - I drink twice as much.
