My youngest memory of going to the movies was when my mother took me to see 101 Dalmatians and Pinocchio.
I remember my dad taking me to see Jason and the Argonauts and Major Dundee. I don’t know if he just wanted to see them and took me along?
I remember in later times of going to the Drive-In but I don’t recall the pictures?

Not my earliest but my most memorable. In the 60's my girlfriend and I and another couple went to see Around the World in 80 Days. We came from a fraternity keg part and had our share of beer. We all needed to go to the bathroom but when we got in the theater we discovered all the rest rooms were closed because the flood had shut down the plumbing.
None of us left .

We were real troopers.

The earliest one I remember would be "Old Yeller." We saw it at the drive in, so it probably wasn't the first run.

There were probably others earlier, but that's the one I remember.

(My wife had never seen it until I got a copy online not too long ago.)

I remember my first movie was "The Rescuers". My mom and dad were both working so s baby sitter took me to that one. I was about 4 or 5.

The first movie with my mom was Oh! Heavenly Dog with Chevy Chase and the Benji looking dog.

The first movie with my dad was Platoon.

The last movie I saw with my dad, be fore he passed was Hacksaw Ridge.

My dad loved war movies. He was in Take the High Ground - in the marching sequences.

My folks took me to see Vincent Price in House of Was in 3-D when I was about 9. Had nightmares for months. Probably 1953. I think I remember seeing Peter Pan. Also came out in 1953.

How about my first movie that I was in? I'm an actor, and the first movie I was in was "Major League II." I was an extra playing one of the Cleveland Indians fans. What a fantasy, to be in a movie about a team I've rooted for since I was a little boy.

I'm older than most here. The movie I remember best was Wizard of Oz. 1939. Might have been others before.

First one I remember was Island of Terror.
I was about 6 or 7 in 1968 or 1969, and it was on TV.
Scared the beejeebees out of me.
Probably why I remember it.

My grandmother owned a theater and got to see any movie for free, plus junk-food. Earliest movie I remember was Hello Dolly with Walter Matthau.

To Hell & Back for me. I remember it well, was about 5 and it
was the only time I remember my dad taking me to the Ritz
Theater in small town we lived in. My mother bawled him out
for taking me to a war movie. Later we called the Ritz the Ratz
because you had to buy a popcorn for you and one for the rats.
Dad would load us up and take us to Drive Inn, but far as I can
remember that was last time he went to a theater. I don't know
what year that was but the movie was just out.

I recall being fascinated by newsreels during WWII, but I think the first feature film I remember clearly was Disney's "Fantasia". I'm sure there were others before that, but it's the most vivid recollection.

Fantasia. For some reason they had a showing at a local theater and my parents took my sister and me. This must have been around 1970.

Dad took me to see the Mummy at a drive-in back in 59. I was still a young pup. That probably instilled my love the Hammer horror movies with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

Mugs McGinnis and the Bowery Boys at the old Capital Theater in Bismarck, ND. A nickel to get in, a nickel for buttered popcorn, and a nickel for a bottle of Nesbitts or Nehi strawberry soda. Sat down in the front row and pestered the girls. Great memories

I recall some forgettable films, but one which scared the Bejasus out of me was WAR OF THE WORLDS. As an adult I learned the Martian observation gadget with colored eyes and long flexible neck was made from a surplus gas mask, but at the time I recall glancing sideways at my mother to reassure myself I was really in a theater and not cornered by the invaders.

The earliest one I remember was "The Thing from another world" with James Arness as the monster. I specifically remember hiding under my coat when the monster showed up...... (1951)

One I remember was War Of The Worlds, 1953.

Went with my Aunt to see it in downtown Boston.

I guess nobody in the family wanted to see it, at the age of 7, I was chosen.

Tell you one thing, I spent many nights with the covers of my bed completely over my head. Took a few weeks for me to adjust to normal sleeping.

My Mom and Dad took my little brother and me to see "The Wizard of Oz" about 1954 or 5. Obviously not the first run but still, when you are 5 or 6, it don't get no better! Like most of the movies I have seen, most are better on the "BIG" screen than on TV.

My oldest brother took me to see Jaws at the drive in. That drive in is now a dirt track, but the screen is still there.

The first movie I saw in the theater, The Empire Strikes Back. I was all of 6 years old and my babysitter took me to see it in Plattsburgh, NY at the old Pyramid Mall.

First drive-in was Sleeping Beauty/Snow White double feature. Dad and to rent a heater because it was pretty cold. Just a vague memory.
First theater was The Longest Day, I had trouble reading dialog when it was germans talking.

My kind, old, spinster Aunt Kate took my down to the Memorial Theater in McKeesport, PA to see Andy Griffith in 'No Time for Sergeants'. Aunt Kate 'snorted' whenever she laughed, and as a result, I had more fun watching her than the movie. During the scene where Andy Griffith had all the latrine seats at attention, I still swear she may have ejected a tonsil. She was a sweet woman and a doting aunt. Very fond memories.

The first movie that I remember the title of was the 1939 movie titled The Hound of the Baskervilles I saw it with my brother who was about ten. We had to walk about a mile to get home and the last couple of blocks had no street lights.
I jumped and looked behind me and said there is something behind us and he took and ran the rest of the way, not slowing down until he was in my mothers lap, really scared and out of breath. I got chewed out good and my brother still remembers it.
