CROC'S TO STOP BEING MADE?
Happy or sad? VERY late to this game (Thursday 8/9/18) & I haven't needed my cane since. I've seen surgeons & OR staff wearing them for decades with much satisfaction. They spend long hours standing on hard floors with little moving around. The strap that CAN fold down over the back of the heel, hasn't rubbed me raw, YET. Cooler feet & NOT having to wear socks That are not only hot, but get sweaty/dirty fast in this heat & need to be changed multiple times a day, + a million. I can wear them in the pool, do some gardening, rinse them off with a hose, then go in the house WITHOUT removing them! Try that with boots/sneakers. NOT a safety work boot to be sure. I ran out & bought 2 more pairs. NO NOT a fashion statement, oh well, I won't make the cover of GQ this month. SO FAR SO GOOD.

For THE TIME BEING, (SO FAR) the increased comfort/ease/practicality, I can live with some plastic. It's not like they are guns.

Crocs says they aren't going out of business.
This is great news for all the folks who love to buy cheap merchandise not made in America, not to mention all fashion-conscious people everywhere.

JIMMY FALLON LIED?
Something said on TV wasn't true? I'm shocked I tell you. When It comes to my foot comfort, I don't care if Putin, the Shah, or Kim DUNG UN made them.

Just bought my first pair about two weeks ago, love em’. I wash my cars while wearing them, work out in the yard, etc. Get a hose wash em down, no wet socks or Cons .
I’m glad they’re still making em’, even though I probably will never need a new pair.....being “plastic” and all.

Crocs are dangerous. The sole wears quickly and they're slippery on a wet surface even when new . . .

You know that many ortho surgeons & their car payments?
THEY WERE/ARE the shoe of choice for so many surgeons (including the ortho's), in the OR anyway. Off duty, I wouldn't know. "NOT FOR YOU!" I can hear the hearts breaking from here.

Just a small sample from the first page of the 2,700,000 returns from a Google search of "crocs dangerous . . ."
Here's What Podiatrists Think About Your Crocs | HuffPost
Crocs are bad for your health
ONLY ON FOX: Crocs, popular shoe could be dangerous - WDRB 41 Louisville News
Kinda like motorcycle riders, there are two kinds of people still wearing Crocs. Those who have gone down, and those who are going down . . .

LET'S TALK ABOUT SLIPS AND FALLS,
Cuz you know you don't got no cause, to be putting down the choice of foot wear. SURE some are more dangerous than others. A woman's tall stiletto heel won't win any prizes either. I'm not sure EXACTLY how many here the high heels would relate to. I've seen my share of slips/falls, & had to do fall risk assessments on individuals & homes. "MOST" I've seen/read about were a result of stepping in/on a "substance" from the proverbial banana peel/ throw rug with a turned up corner/ general clutter/ electrical cords/ poor lighting/ asst bodily fluids, & my favorite the individual butter packet. The choice of footwear was not "usually" #1.

I've always thought they were ugly as......
But people really like them (to wear) Why would they stop making something that sells?

Crocs is not going to stop selling them. They are just closing the last of their company owned sweatshops and will hire outside sweatshops for all future production.
Crocs make for great house slippers.

Well for the sake of those that like them I hope it's not true. I believe that we all should have the option to decide for ourselves. for me It is a non issue because I'm not ever going to buy them or wear them. I find them to be uncomfortable, a tripping hazard and uuuuuuglyyyyyyy. I'se a flip-flop guy.

They make good PFD’s if you get caught in a riptide, or maybe want to swim the English Channel.

I wear croc's around the house but I will not wear flip-flops. That peace between the toes is the most uncomfortable something I ever put on my feet.

For 16 years I have had two pairs of black, non-perforated Crocs (one as a spare if I ever had a high speed blowout which hasn't happened yet) . They are extremely comfortable and easy to get in and out of. I wear them around the house and to all medical appointments.
They require no bending, laceing, tying, strapping, buckling, zipping or horning.
I have never tripped, slipped or accidentally walked out of them. Yep, I like 'em.
PS: they make great fly and grandkid swatters.

I'm wearing Croc flip-flops as I read this thread. I like Crocs for more than their footwear. Their stock turned into the second 10-bagger my wife and I had in the stock market.
We met a nurse vacationing at the same resort in Costa Rica who had a pair and became intrigued enough to research the company. As luck would have it, the stock had been listed on the market two weeks prior so we took a flyer and bailed out at $129.

You went with the formal ones. My, aren't you the fashion plate. I have 3 pairs now. Guess I'll have to figure out who to will them to. Boy, some of you guys will go on about anything. Boxers or tightie whities?, Talk amongst yourselves.

Mine are used for ‘slipper’ wear.
Don’t usually wear Crocs while crossing glaciers, mountain hiking, or robbing convenience stores
during bad weather.
You don’t want to slip while trying to make a clean getaway!
I have several pairs of boots for doing all that!

Part of my crocks arsenal is a pair of Winter crocks that have a lining that actually keeps the wet out and off your feet. I just enjoy their comfort so much, I even wear them in Winter outside! Yep, don't get me wrong, I also have a lot of the Rocky outdoor footwear when needed...but hey, I ain't huntin all the time.

I’ve worn Crocs of several types for at least ten years. Worn them everywhere, shopping, the beach, indoor and outdoor ranges, on escalators, in wet conditions, in the US and third world countries. Never had a problem with them. If they’re loose on your feet you might have problems. The bottoms don’t wear fast, and don’t get slippery. I don’t care what people think of my footwear. Foot and back problems can be correlated with all kinds of footwear, if Crocs don’t work for you, don’t buy them. For the rest of us, I’ll wear what I like.
As for “Made in USA,” who here wears American-made shoes? Thought so.
The escalator urban legends make me laugh. I’ve worn open-type Crocs on escalators and tried to get them caught in the mechanism. Not possible.
Bashing Crocs is like bashing Glocks - fun because everyone does it.

(Before you start, I understand the limited controversy they've faced. They're American made . . . )

<cough> Red Wings, Lucchese, Allen Edmonds. New Balance running shoes, but those are increasingly made offshore.

I hadn't or wasn't aware of the Crocks being dangerous thing until a few weeks back this fella was wearing a pair and tripped and fell off a ladder onto his driveway then rolled out into the street and was ran over by a smart car the car rolled over onto a fire hydrant breaking it off .The water flooded this guys neighbors basement .There is an ongoing investigation and pending multiple law suits .Its just a mess .The president of Nike weighed in along with other shoe manufacturers and said they (crocks) should never have been invented but at least they should come with a warning about how hazardous they could be he hinted that the company may have covered up the hazard potential. The president of crocks fired back that this is all a conspiracy between Nike,And Adidas that they ha e hired Buster Brown to trip people wearing crocks causing many if these falls and accidents .Buster Brown was unavaiilable for comment according to anonymous sourcesc.

Thought I saw something on that this morning........
One of those 'classless action' law suits.
Naming Redwing, Tony Lama, Justin, Muck, and Florsheim as co-conspirators.
But, it may be just a no soul problem....
On a light note.......I heard that the King of the Cowboys once tried 'Croks'.
Dale ask, "Roy, are gonna ride the range today?"
Roy, "No Dale, I'm going mountain lion hunting!"
Roy returns late in the evening with a lion tied across his saddle swells.
Dale waiting on the front porch of the ranch house, upon
seeing the huge mountain lion across Roy's saddle she exclaims,
" Roy, is the cat tat chew'd yur new shoes???"
.

I've had them from China as well as Mexico. The Italian ones are far more stylish. I like Mexican food too.

Over the years I've bought 10-12 pairs of New Balance shoes and ALL were made overseas!

I have the ugliest pair of crocs in the whole wide world, wearing them as I type this. But in 4 minutes I have to go outside and mow the lawn, and I will not be wearing crocs, ugly or not.
Have a blessed day,
Leon

The 990 line is exclusively made in the USA, along with several other lines, unlike Nike, which doesn't manufacture anything in the USA . . .
