I had a Seiko 5 a few months ago (the small model) and like an idiot I got rid of it. I was very pleased with the accuracy of it despite what I read on the interwebz

I like the way your dial has stayed nice and white. Many old watches take on a yellowed look on the hands, etc. Have you changed the face?
Heuer charged me for new hands. At least, they should be nice and bright in the dark. But the original hands looked okay when I returned the watch for service. Maybe there was some internal corrosion?
For the cost of a Rolex "servicing" I can get a whole new Seiko 200m Divers Watch and solid stainless band........ and add 300 rds or more of 9mm hollowpoints to the stash........
I'm on my second since 1989. The first was still going strong after 23 years but couldn't resist a Amazon deal on a new one. The old one is at the cabin.
This is also my daily wear Seiko 5, with a black band like Snubby's. I like this face better than the one Snubby carries. I'm hard on stuff like this, and the Seiko is a quality, rugged piece . . .
Servicing can cost about $1000 which is about a ten year interval. I replaced my Rolex band for $1500 last year, but it could have been sent off to be restored for far less.
I spend far more on my gun collecting habits than on my Rolex. So what little I invest in my Rolex will pay for itself many times over.
LOL...by having a Seiko Dive watch I know what time it is...... and.......... I've been able to spend even more on "my gun collecting habit"
On a more serious personal note....... I tend to draw lines where money spent meets the line where in my opinion one gets diminishing returns for the next dollar spent. I've just never been able to bring myself to spend "Rolex kind of money" on a watch......... my personal limit seems to be about $500. That said I did buy several PC guns in the 90s; and have never met a 39xx series 9mm or 3" 66 I didn't like!!!
I did buy a early Sieko Sport 100 Chronograph in 1984 for IIRC about $450 ($1,100 in today's dollars). Still have it as a dress watch.
Seiko used to be my favorite, I have since given them to my sons. I even thought about a Seiko Dive watch replicating my Submariner....as a cheaper alternative, but decided against it.
Kurusu, I love that one for fancy dress. A real beauty! Can you explain a bit about it?
