Lessons to be learned
Yesterday in Oporto, around noon, a fellow robbed a bank heavily armed with a paper note that said "This is a robbery hand over the money". The money was promptly delivered to him and he went away.

better a bank than a Port wine store or the place I used to buy Royal Old Brandy. I haven't been to Oporto since 1984 but I still remember all the good food and friendly people there. lee

Most bank robberies are note jobs. The banks tell their employees to just hand over the dough.
I had one where the guy walked up to a teller and politely asked for $1200. She was an old bird and told him no. He turned and left, went to a bank a block away and did the same thing. That teller gave him the $1200.
We caught him the same day. The first teller was reprimanded by the bank and probably would have fired if she hadn’t been on the job forever.
The U S Attorney’s office wouldn’t charge him with bank robbery since the statute called for the use of “force, violence, or intimidation” and he hadn’t used any. We got him for bank burglary though.

Somehow I doubt he could pull that one off at a Port wine store.
