Resetting old Weaver scopes
I have three ancient Weaver scopes that I would like to reset to center. Is there a way to reset the crosshairs to factory specs?

Turn the windage until it stops.Count the revolutions while taking it all the way to the other side, then go halfway back.Do the same with the elevation screw

Well, that didn’t work on a 2x-7x variable but did work on a K2.5x. I thought that old variable was bad when I had it mounted on a 77/22 Hornet...but it was hard to tell with that finicky rifle. I got the K2.5 sighted in as well as my eyes can see at 100 yards with such little magnification.
Thank you both.

Hold it against a mirror in a well lit room. You will see 2 sets of cross hairs, adjust the scope until both crosshairs align. That is an easy way to get close to optically centered. I would be hesitant to run an old scope out to the ends of adjustment.
