A great gunsmith shop is closing . Run out of business by high fees and laws in Ill. It is a shop that does hot tank bluing, carbona bluing and color case hardening and does not machine polish ,They hand polish ,no loss of sharp edges. The owner is up in age and is giving it all up, selling off his machines and furnaces and equipment.I have had a few guns refinished by them as well as smith work on metal parts .I would put their refinisn on a par with FORDS ,APW COGAN and possibly TURNBULL
It tears me up to see quality shops close, because a world of knowledge is gone with them ,,and a loss of craftsmen these were the kind that could make a firearm from a block of wood and a bar of steel. Several people on the forum have used their services and they will be missed by many
