A Note on Prayer Requests
Our Rules state:

"Religion" means:
Religious discussion
Proselytizing
Religious commentary
Preaching
Public prayers
We have traditionally allowed prayer requests. We will continue to do so if you follow the guidelines below-
Keep it simple.
Put "Prayer Request" in your thread title.
State your request.
Post your reply, but again, keep it simple. Don't post your prayer and don't go into your beliefs.
Don't quote scripture.
Keeping it a simple request/reply affair allows us to continue what is viewed by many as an exception to the rule.
I appreciate your compliance.
Comment here if you wish.
If these prayer requests offend any of you, I would suggest not clicking on those threads. If they make this forum unbearable for you, then I bid you Godspeed in your quest for another forum to hang out on.
May God be with us all in these trying times.

Lee, thank you for this very reasonable clarification.
Sad that it was even necessary.

Is a comment like this too "religious", detailed, or specific?
I will be praying for wisdom for your doctors, healing for (person being prayed for), and comfort for all who are affected by this situation.

Cool. While typing out my prayer isn't my style, I'm glad it is OK to tell people WHAT I am praying for on their behalf.

I really can’t imagine how difficult it can be keeping a site like this from deteriorating into a free for all.
You really do the hard work, I may not always agreed, but I can always appreciate it.

Just wondering - people often quote words of wisdom from books. But the Bible is off limits?

I'm pretty sure that is what this means:

It pains me. I often think of a verse I'd like to quote.
Proverbs 17:28 comes readily to mind.
However, quoting scripture will always be considered proselytizing, preaching, or discussing religion by some. If I truly run a fair forum, I then have to allow the agnostic and atheist to have his say.
I don't like it, but discussion of religion (I prefer "faith" cause I don't have a lot of "religion") will invariably lead to an argument.
