So you like curbside delivery...
Well,I don't,plain and simple.
I just bought a gas lawn edger from DR.Power online. Local stores didn't have anything in stock. I've dealt with Dr.Power before so buying online from them wasn't an issue.
Buying from a grocery store is a totally different experience and one I choose not to deal with. I don't want some pimply faced kid picking out my produce. I don't want the same kid picking out my meats or deli items.
I would bet that they don't do special requests in a curbside order. The butcher will slice a pork loin to my specifications. If I want a roast or other large piece of beef grounded up it isn't an issue. The deli has this garlic flavored cheese. I ask for a thick chunk so I can cut it the way I want for cheese and crackers.
You wont get this service with a curbside order. Maybe something is out of stock. Do they offer options to substitute? Sorry but buying food unseen is a road I wont go down.

I much prefer to do my own shopping but am not currently doing that. I have been doing delivery since March 20 and it has worked very well for me. I actually appreciate that "some pimply faced kid picking out my produce" is possibly saving me from becoming ill and is able to make a living during these hard times, I feel no need to demean or disparage them. My service is in contact with me real time while they are shopping and offer substitutes based upon my approval. They do offer custom requests and I have been very satisfied with them so you may lose that bet. I assume your post is based upon no actual experience?

We’ve had our groceries delivered for the last couple of months. No problems.
The shopper will send us a text if something is out of stock so we can substitute.
We may continue this even after this virus BS. It’s worth the delivery fee to never have to set foot in a grocery store.
We also have lunch and dinner delivered once in a while. The service has been great. But at times the food isn’t what we expected.

Not based on actual experience but I couldn't find special requests anywhere on the website. Regardless of your comments I know what I want. It might be a chuck roast. It might be bottom round. I'll know it when I see it. I'm not going to ask or expect some kid to know what works best for a stew or will feed a family of six. And not all cuts are the same.
I don't like the value pack meats. They're cut too thin. There isn't an area in the online order form to request 2" ribeyes. There isn't an area to choose large jalapenos. I know how much of various items to get based on my experience.
Don't reply with a "what if" or "why can't you" because if it isn't in a box or a can I'm not letting someone else pick it for me.

As I mentioned, I am in contact with my shopper in real time and can give my explicit request at the time they are at the store shopping. Not all items are on the website that is why real time contact is offered.

It sounds like you've made your decision on the issue. If it's not for you, then don't use the service. Continue to go to the store yourself and pick out your own groceries. Isn't it that simple?

So you like curbside delivery...
I let them pick the easy stuff and go inside for the stuff i want to select myself. It keeps my visit shorter.

I've made my decision and stated my reasons why. If others like the convenience of curbside delivery that is their choice and I said nothing in the negative towards them.
And yes it is that simple. I don't use the service and didn't need you to tell me that.

Can you explain? It sounds like you're doing a curbside order and shopping inside at the same time.
