John Deere toys
Anybody else here enjoy the old 1/16th scale farm toys?
Even though these are green, I'm not a JD snob and seem to have accumulated several other colors.

John Deere toys
I have these two:
The 7800 was sold to us by Deere as an “employee only” version circa 1992. I can’t recall where the little 4020 came from.
This place Bossen Implement is in my home town. And the 2020 National Farm Toy Show is coming up next month about an hour down the road from me.
I spent this week playing with full sized tractors helping family harvest corn. Back at it next week.
I also have a new Deere mower and a 34 year old snowblower that some refer to as my toys.

My 50 year old son has collected the 1/16 and 1/64 size John Deere implements since he was a kid and still buys. I couldn't guess how many he has. He has a combine that was a limited edition that I know is worth about $200, still in the original box.

I've never truly collected cast iron toys but can appreciate the hobby. I own a few odd cast iron things that were passed down through family members but never went out of my way to collect them. I remember as a youngster knowing a few friends that were given these things and always thought the way everything worked was cool. It was always well understood that they weren't to be roughed up and road the way we did our Tonkas.

The really nice quality ones available through Deere when I worked for them, made me wish I had someone to buy them for. But alas, the timing wasn't good. My children and nephews were too old, and grand kids weren't born yet.

I saw a John Deere toy I'd like to have. At a gun show I saw an AR-15 platform rifle that someone had coated in John Deere green complete with the yellow running deer on the magazine well.
