USPS Christmas in January

Just received 8 Christmas cards delivered very late. All from a single sorting facility marked "MID-ISLAND NY 117". All at least 3 weeks late, and 3 a month late.
Decorations came down on Epiphany, January 6, so USPS extends the celebration.

I sent 2 cards 2 weeks before Christmas one to my son in Va, he got it last Monday, the other one to my son in Fl, he hasn't got it yet.

I had another member send me something , tomorrow it'll be 4 weeks and I still don't have it . I was talking to my FFL and it took 3 weeks for a pistol to get from her to Pennsylvania . I asked if it was guaranteed and if so would they get their money back . She looked at me and laughed .
 
Got an email from my Power company that started out very reasonable. You know that the USPS is running behind, etc. Ok. Then it goes on to say that despite the USPS running late its still our obligation to pay our utility bills whether we have received a bill or not. Huh?

Just FYI, I pay all my utility bills online because its cheaper. But really, you're going to try to tell folks that don't use the internet, don't do online billing, etc. that they are still obligated to pay you when you can't get the bill to them. Wow.
 
They need to be privatized, horrid service. I have not gotten several cards and 2 just last week.
 
Down here at the tip of the continental dingle both incoming and outgoing mail happens within a very reasonable time frame.
Sounds as if a missorted mess occurs at a local level.
 
Think the USPS is having some personnel problems due to the virus. My guy was great all year and then he started having to do a couple of routes and the mail came later and later and not at all once or twice. Normalcy will return in all matters, hopefully soon.
 
Certified letter ,mailed to mailed to me from 705xx zip code in March. Received by me, also in 705xx in October. Mail man put pretty much gave up and put in the mail box without even getting the Green Card signed. What cha gonna do????
 
We mailed a goodie package to my son in Iraq back in October 2004, it went through the APO in New York. He had it in his hands in 5 days! The pound of gummi-bears was melted into a 5" ball of gummi, they still ate it!

There was a Science Fiction story written in the 60's that said if you mailed a letter to Alpha Centuri from you neighborhood Post Office it would arrive yesterday! It is all about the relation of Time and Distance!

2 weeks and counting for a box of 200gr Berrys Bullets-good thing they are so easy to get-I probably could just reorder in case of permanent loss(Sarc Off)
