Hopefully this won't get moved since I spend most of my time at the forum on this page. The title says it all, I have seen some very interesting screen names here and was wondering the meaning behind them.

If I had it to do all over again I would change it. Refers to the town I reside in.
I'm a member of a few gun forums some I still frequent some not. Several know me and in a way I hate to change and start anew.

Miss Fire sorta just came to me when I was thinking of a user name.
Some so-and-so already took Big Dog, which has been a nickname for me for a few years.
People that know me well call me "Dog" and I actually answer to it as much as I do my given name.

My Italian last name begins with a "D'", and I owned a photo studio. It was called d'pix. I started using the depicts in photo internet sites in 1994.

Well since I started it.... I am not a handyman by trade. My wife started calling me her " handyman" after we bought our first home , I refused to hire anyone for a job I could do my self with the right tools. I do have a nice tool collection after all these years.

When I first discovered forums I was going to use my name but a computer geek at work said never use your real name on the internet. Since then I learned he was full of hooey but I started using K.38 before I figured that out.
K-38 from S&W is my favorite revolver and the K-38 I have now is from a late gunsmith friend of mine.

I was born and grew up on a farm in the Coastal Plain of Georgia. Now most of the Coastal Plain is real sandy soil, but our 170 acre farm is located in the middle of about a 5000 acre area of red, rich soil, and it is known locally as The Red Level.

In Gonzales some folks call it Guntown. I guess because of the "Come & Take It" cannon, and also Gonzales tends to be pronounce Gunzales. The uncle part is because I was only an uncle when I first started using it as a screen name on other sites.

When I started working for an insurance company everybody had an assigned "user ID" that was the first three letters of your first name and the first three letters of your last name. (Unless they spelled something obscene. )
I ended up with deadin and have used it everywhere since.
(They had a real problem with one of our Vietnamese whose name was Ng Po (or something like that))

I am a real nut for N frames, K frames and J frames.
If I had it to do over again I would just use my name. Most people already know it anyway.

As a kid in the 50's and 60's I run a little trapline, then while in Alaska working the north slope I trapped up there also in my spare time. Sooooo the name just kind of followed me around.

South West IDaho.
My name is Fred, but every combination of that I tried was taken. Funny I never see them post.
I use FredInIdaho on other boards. I'm a life long Californian but don't tell anybody. I won't go back, much as I love the Sierra Nevada and the North Fork. And Yosemite, and ... wait, this was about screen names.

Actually, I was going through my pictures looking for a good avatar and found this one so the username was sort of a no-brainer. Plus, dragonflies are kinda cool and eat lots of mosquitoes.

When I lived in the "Frozen North" I car pooled with a guy from Louisiana. We had a lot in common since I'm from Texas and had lived in Louisiana. We were always plotting our escape to a warmer climate.
He said he didn't much care where he moved as long as an ARMADILLO would live there.

When I hired on with the co. I work for 31 years ago, My name was posted on the roster board as MC Dias. One of the jokers started calling me McDias, the Irish Portuguee. It evolved into Mickey D soon after.

pps (not after the walther) was what I put down as a screen name after my wife and I came back from the range. She wondered why I could hit the 9 and 10 rings from 25 yards but be such a Pi$$ Poor Shot (pps) when aiming for the toilet at home??
I told her it was the recoil

The Howards were related to Jesse James. So it would be easy for him to use the Howard name. I'm a cousin, 4th generation by marriage. My user name is my own. Google it and you get the actor Bruce Lee. When I registered most names I tried were taken so here I am, myself. Brue Lee M not by choice and not one of the cool names. Bummer for me. I do really enjoy my Smiths and other brands as well. I like to read the posts and participate when I think my input is relevant. I hope Sip doesn't leave California quite yet. Bruce

CH47gunner is the same sign-in I use on all the forums, that I am a member of.
CH47 Chinook is a Medium/Heavy lift U.S. Army twin rotor helicopter. I was a Doorgunner/Crewchief on CH47C's & Super C's, for my RVN tour. I flew 700+ hours logged time and probably half again that as unlogged.

It means I am almost as addicted to riding BMW Motorcycles as I am to owning guns and shooting them. I'd hate to live on the small end of nothing, wittled down to a fine point between these fine avocations.
