We are getting a new Dunhams this spring. Going in a really large space in a mall that was formerly occupied by Dillards. I have heard of them but have never been in one of their stores. What little I can see on their web sites looks like they have reasonable prices and decent sales. I don't wish bad on any business but we have a D's that I will not darken the door of, could be interesting.

Anyone have experience with them in your area?

Do they have reloading supplies in stores, did not see any online?

We have a small Dunhams in our town. I shop there for shoes, boots and clothes. They have gun sales but like everyone else, not much selection now. I like the store as it is a change from Walmart and Fleet Farm.

The is one in our town. They had a decent supply of firearms and ammo before the craziness began. Their prices were higher than Wally World on some items but, not all.

Now that Bass Pro owns Cabela's and recently purchased Sportman's Warehouse, there are fewer and fewer retail stores like Dunham's. I quit shopping at "D**k's" but, Academy is still decent. I have increased by visits to the local gun stores and pawn shops but, they too have been wiped out by panic buyers.

The only thing I know about them is that I bought a case of the 525 round/box Federal bulk .22 ammo online for $169 just before everything went crazy.

Dunhams, well, I have one local. The firearms department it totally clueless. Have to have manager show any firearms. If it is a handgun, you have to give them your drivers license and your permit to touch it. In Iowa your CC permit exempts you from the NICS check but they still do it anyway. Will always be delayed. This was as of a couple of months ago, maybe it has been straightened out by now.

There is a Dunhams in Carlisle, PA that I've been in. The last time I was in there there was a decent selection of guns. I can't remember how much ammunition was there.

There is one not far from my house and I have bought several long guns from them over the years. It is a small store and does not stock handguns. I have bought ammo, shoes, optics and a variety of other things over a period of several years. The key is to watch for sales and you can get very good deals sometimes. Their standard prices are usually higher than other chain stores. The last time I was in there I had to hand over my DL to handle a rifle. No big deal to me. It’s a sign of the times.

Have one in a small mall here and their prices are higher than the LGS. They have a lot of clothes and sporting equipment for many sports. The firearms section is small with more cleaning stuff than anything.

We have several of them in my area. They are ok, but mostly focused on athletic sports equipment with hunting and shooting items being an afterthought. Their gun and ammo prices were laughable before the craziness...

The one near me used to have good prices on Blazer Brass 9mm and often ran sales on .22 bulk boxes, but of course that was before the craziness. No ammo in stock now and I never saw any reloading supplies there.

Dunhams here has no reloading supplies. They were great when mass quantities of mil-surps were coming in. I bought quite a few SKSs and Moisins from them.
Last ammo I bought there was 4 100rd packs of .22 shorts for $5 a box

One a couple miles away..... they have guns .... but aren't gun folk. Trigger locks stay on the gun until they walk you out the door. Bought one gun there a M&P .22 compact on sale... a PITA process. But it was a good "ON Sale" price.

Great for boots/shoes and other gear...... watch for end of season sales on stuff you can use next year!!!! :D

We have had a local Dunhams for several years. Not a bad place, not a good place. Fair prices and fair stock for outdoor, hunting, and shooting. Biggest problem in our store, always just two employees, one at the cash register and one for the rest of the store, so if you need help, you better hope there are not many customers in the store. No reloading supplies at our store but quite a supply of ammo before the crazy stuff started. They do great sales ever so often and a lot of my friends, and me too, buy deer hunting stands when they rock bottom the prices after season. Way better than Wallyworld and since Bass Pro is running Cabelas into the ground and turning into the urban shop for wanttobe outdoors millennials, they are going to be up and coming in my opinion.

I was happy at the store in Hazleton PA since I got my first pistol there. They had a S & W SD .40 VE on sale for 279 and change. I wasn't happy that the had a trigger lock on the pistol and refused to remove it so I could check the trigger pull. If they had I never would have bought the pistol. Over three hours to to do the paperwork. Fill out the form and send it to corporate for approval before it went to the sheriff. Opps, corporate fax machine is out. Ok corporate approved it. Now to sheriff but the is an hour wait and his computer system is down and it will be over an hour to get his approval. Sheriff approved so back to corporate for the final approval, but wait because the fax is down again. A lot of fun for someone with bad knees and back.

Then to get home and find I hate the trigger. I should have walked out at the start.

The was three or four years ago, well before Covid.

Might want to keep this in mind...

Their guarantee goes something like this: Nobody beats Dunhams prices - Nobody.

The guarantee is only on items that were purchased within a 5 mile radius of the Dunhams store.

Just a bit less than 'Nobody' IMO.

Their store in Hannibal MO is the same way. And they let me know it is illegal for them - in Missouri - to sell a firearm and ship it to Illinois. I asked him to maybe clarify that and he offered to have the local police come by and explain it to me.

No kidding.

Agreed it is not a "gun"store. But, in normal times, they do have a decent supply of run of the mill long and short guns.....that said, ammo prices are usually pretty good. Regular sporting goods tend to be cheaper than Dicks...get on their email list and they have 15 or 20 pct discount coupons every week. Of course coupons only work on regular price items and many items have "sale" price tags.
