Default For once, perception and statistics are in agreement

When I went back to work last year, before most of Vegas, I immediately noticed a good number of folk driving nuts on the freeway. They weren't happy with the much reduced traffic and sticking the cruise on at 5-10 over. Oh no, 90+ MPH blasts in the left lane followed by banzai maneuvers across multiples lanes to make their exit. I began to wish for more traffic to keep these brain donors in check.

Well, in the last few months we have had more traffic as the city has opened up, but the loonies are refusing to get the message. If I ran a dashcam I could spend all my free time in the evening uploading insane driving to YouTube. The week before last we had three successive mornings where the freeway was one lane off from being entirely blocked by wrecks. This holiday weekend we've had multiple deaths on our roads, but to be fair one of them looks like there was a medical episode before the vehicle left the road.

Now it seems that the stats for the whole country agree with my observations around Vegas, so be careful out there.

On Friday, heading out to camp for the weekend I saw several OHP "Speed Traps" Set up so badly only a drunk idiot would get caught! On trap used 4 or 5 cruisers and was limiting out on drunk idiots. The other obvious traps were all getting a nice share also, that was at 2PM, I couldn't imagine how bad it was after rush hour!

Coming home this afternoon, overloaded trucks seemed to be the target of choice.
