Some of you may remember my ongoing tales of old bear Vs. the Empress.
Well, everything started to come to a head Sunday evening, when I was informed that Jeffery, my good friend, was suffering chest pains and was transported via ambulance to Duke University hospital and went into full cardiac arrest in rout. Jeff is now in cardiac ICU, prognosis currently unknown

Even though the empress and I detest each other I decided I had to do something for Jeffery even humbling myself and giving the empress an open personal IOU.
I just received a V-mail from the empress, who in tears thanked me for my offer. Now I gotta hope that she does not want me to wash and wax her car. OH- well if she does she does. I'll take it to the car wash

Let’s hope that this tale has a Happy ending, and Jeffery recovers.

I am familiar with your trials and tribulations with the Empress and you opening your heart to her because of your friendship with her husband speaks well of you and those of us who know you find this gesture not unexpected.

Praying that Jeffery recovers.

+1, some times we do things that we don't particularly want to do because it is the right thing to do. I'm not up to date on your trial and tribulations with "The Empress" but who knows, your offer of kindness may just push her around the bend.

Fred - best wishes for a quick recovery for your bud. As for the empress....well, I have a bottle of 20 year old single malt that I would share if you were closer.

Keep Jeffrey in your thoughts and let the others go if you can.

Prayer from Texas for his healing and recovery. I also need to learn of this relationship. It sounds intriguing.

Fred, like Rusty said, this is S.O.P with you. You're just that kind of a guy...and that's why we love and appreciate you. When it comes to people like the Empress, I'm afraid you're a much better man than I. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have the patience to put up with her...or the Princess (wherever she may be currently).

Anyway, our prayers go up for Jeff...and some for you, too, as you deal with the Empress.

Got a call last night. Jeff is still alive and expected to start a long recovery. Jeff and I had a five (5) second talk. Told him I was glad that he did not die on me, cus if he did I was really be going be Pissed. The empress is making an effort, but will never understand a twisted Guys sense of humor, which is just fine with me, and I think Most of us

I read the prior posts about the emperess ans she seems like a first rate See You Next Tuesday. May be why Jeffery had the heart attack in the first place. Also sounds like Jeffery needs a friend like you.
