Found a good movie on netflix last night
"Hell or High Water" Jeff Bridges was in it and it turned out to be a GREAT movie-Fast moving and a good plot. Brisges as usual was great as an aging Texas Ranger and Gil Birmingham (plays Thomas Rainwater in "Yellowstone")was also great as his half indian/half Mexican Partner. The portrayal of west Texas was great (even though it was filmed in New Mexico ) Kinda in the genere of "No Country for Old Men"

I agree, that's a good one.
Here's another, on Amazon Prime. Australian western. The sequel is pretty good, too:

"Hell or High Water" is an
earlier Taylor Sheridan film.
Also check out his "Sicario,"
and "Wind River."
Most of you have already seen
parts of or commented on his
"Yellowstone" series and now
"1883."

Went to theater when it first came out. Just watched it again last
week on tv. Great movie. Wind River is also great. AND I am not
a big movie person. Got to be somewhat believable to hold my
attention.

After Bridges pops the shooter on the rock
did you get a glimpse of the Rattlesnake at the now
dead guys feet ?

Loved it and agree Wind River is a good one. Taylor Sheridan has got it figured out.

Sheridan reportedly lives or did
in the Cutting Horse Capital
of the World and such champion
nags have been featured in
"Yellowstone." Sheridan also
appears during those scenes
and does some of the riding.
He's the gent who drives Jimmy
down to Texas" 6666 Ranch, which
in real life Sheridan is part owner,
for Season 4 segments of
"Yellowstone."

Good anti hero flick and Sheridan captured the looks of the depressed feeling of the times.
I liked Ben Foster's role, he caught my eye about 20 years ago in one my my favorite funny movies Big Trouble.

It is a good one.
Saw it at the theater so will have to watch again on NETFLIX.
Another more recent Jeff Bridges movie that is worth seeing is Bad Night At The El Royale.
Great cast and Bridges is top notch.

A friend of mine (ironically also from LA) recommended it to me a couple of years ago. It was an interesting movie. At first I didn't think I'd like it, but I did.

It has been a while since I've seen it. I also thought it was well cast and Bridges and Pine did good work.

Buck Taylor. He also made a cameo
in "Yellowtstone" as one of the stock
owners looking to Dutton for
leadership. His daddy of course was
Dub Taylor.
Gil Birmingham, Bridges' ranger partner,
is a member of the Comanche nation
and has appeared in "Wind River" and
"Yellotstone" as well.

I just watched Green book and highly recommend it!
There is such a huge library of good movies and tv shows available with the tivimate iptv player ( this one) i wish i would just have time to chill and to watch at least some of them. Feels like i am busy 24 hours a day and it lasts forever.

"You **** right I got a gun on me." I think Buck Taylor was the actor that played the old man in the bank robbery.
His delivery of that line was powerful and displayed the characters attitude and defiance....much the same way I'd have said it in a real life situation.

I worked bank robberies for 8 years in New Orleans and off and on for the next 17 years, as required.
Yeah, the money is insured, but the real victim is usually a 20 year old girl excited about her first real job who quits after some lazy puke puts a gun in her face. Even note jobs are traumatic - though its basically the same as all the other transactions that day. Guy passes you some paper, you pass back money. But the implied threat of death kind of ruins it.
It would be fine with me if every bank robber got blasted walking out of the bank.

Yes, a very busy actor. When watching "Hell or High Water" with my then girlfriend she said "hey, he's the guy in the wheelchair in the Twilight movies". I just rolled my eyes and kept my mouth shut.

Check another one of Taylor's on Paramount plus, "Mayor of Kingstown", gritty, violent show. I also like "Hell or High Water", have the dvd in my collection.

Not to hijack Caje’s thread, but I happened to find what I thought was a great movie on netflicks last night called “In The Shadow of the Moon”. Good cop flick with a sci-fi twist. Check it out.

Speaking of Taylor Sheridan, if you re-watch 'Hell or High Water', Sheridan has a cameo appearance at about the 24 or 25 minute mark in the movie. He's the cowboy on horseback moving cattle across the road to get them away from a brushfire. Bridges and Birmingham speak to him briefly in that time frame.
Pic Below of Sheridan and Bridges. Don
