Hot dogs, guns, and beer

Colorado Kool-Aid[emoji6]

I remember playing Smokey And The Bandit when visiting family east of the Mississippi. Had to make room in the trunk for a case or two.

I don’t drink anymore due to health issues, but I will never understand craft beer (or wine, for that matter.) The worse something tastes, the “better” and more expensive it is?

Give me a nice, smooth Hamms or Coors any day.

ACORN, if you ever get to New Brighton you gotta try the Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe. (My Junior & Senior years of high school job.) There are others around now, but Brighton was the first one.
I heard someone was going to re-open the O but I haven't heard anything lately, and I hate driving in Oakland. Best French fries in the world were served there.

So what kind of hot dogs were those? They look pretty good!
They’re called “Hebrew National bun length beef franks”. Growing up in CA Bay Area (when it was normal) there was and still is “Casper’s Hotdogs”. It was an old little retro place that has been around forever. Old ladies that worked there forever served you. The hotdogs had a “snap” when you bite into them. These hotdogs have that and are real good. Here’s the place…

I see how you got the "burp" in your name. I am not much of a hot dog person, but I do like the Hebrew National dogs once in a while.

My wife took her Mom there once. My wife ordered a small order of fries. Her Mom insisted on a large order because she was hungry. Her eyes about popped out of her head when she got a mound of fries about a foot high and around.
I’ve heard of the Brighton shop but never tried it. Have to give it a try.

Not a real big beer drinker. Living where I do, however, gives me access to some very fine beers. Day to day is Mirror Pond. But the huge amount of microbreweries means I can get excellent beer of all kinds. There is a time and place for cheap beer, but not cheap light beer. My cheap brand is Miller High Life. That said, the only beer I would refuse to drink is Hamms. In any form.

The only beer I bring home any more ia Hamm’s in 16 oz cans. Unless they have Old Style. Once you pour it over ice, it doesn’t matter what it started out as.

If I am drinking beer to taste it, there are three I will focus on.
1. Summit EPA, from Saint Paul
2. Castle Danger Light Cream Ale, from the north shore of Lake Superior, up near Silver Bay
3. Bell’s Two Hearted, from Kalamazoo.

Wyatt Burp; it's my candid opinion, that you have made appropriate choices in hot dogs, gun, and beer.

You have my sincere doubts, and sympathy pertaining to your location.

I spent many a night/morning at the “Dirty O”. Super Dog with bacon, mustard, pickles, onion, and a mound of fries you had to see to believe.
The real breakfast of champions.
Sorry to see it go. “Sniff”
Another favorite of mine were hot dogs with mustard, chili, and onions from Sam’s Superior Restaurant in McKeesport Pa. Also known as a Greek Dog in the Erie area.

My Dad was an old friend of Katherine the owner.
I asked her what was the most dogs they sold in a day. She never hesitated, 1969, the day JFK gave a speech in town. I’d love to have the hot dog chili recipe.
Another favorite of mine now gone.

Yeah, O fries with cheese sauce. Great way to help absorb a belly full of beer.

Had some kind of “craft beer” at a wedding. Worst **** I ever drank. It was brewed with grapefruit peels in it. Forced down the 1 beer then switched to gin and tonic.

Should your travels take you to Northern Virginia, take time out to head to the Vienna Inn, on Maple Ave Vienna Va. Get a table or belly up to the bar. Muddy work clothes or 3 piece suites, you'll find both there . Great hot dogs and chili and the beer is cold. Senator John Warren would visit the place to converse with the clientele.

Looking good and it sure brought to light a lot of coors stories for me lol
(Grew up just down the road and knew a lot of people that worked at the plant or for the fam [emoji4])
