Well now, it's a lovely Sunday morning. Why not add another thread about colonoscopy? :)
"...last year — in what experts believe could end the dread that keeps many people from this important screening — the Food and Drug Administration approved a regimen of pills, Sutab, that studies show works just as well as the liquid solutions — without the vile flavor. It’s a 24-tablet regimen: 12 pills the day before and 12 the next day, several hours before the procedure..."

Thanks I will keep that in mid. Due to circumstances I have done 9 procedures. I have limited kidney function (Cancer survivor) and what I read shown below cough mt attention. Next visit to mt GI Doctor we will talk!

The newest pills should not be confused with earlier tablets, made mostly of sodium phosphate, which the FDA found in 2006 caused serious kidney damage in some patients. While still on the market, the old pills are rarely used today, experts say.

The newer ones have sodium sulfate, and are safe,”

Suprep is 2 6oz bottles and works very well. But would not be a good choice for NYlakesider, since he stated that he has some Renal problems. I would check with your MD, since it could cause electrolyte shifts which could have serious complications. Be Safe.

Anything except Moviprep, assuming that it still being used. I took it pre-colonoscopy maybe 20 years ago, it made me the sickest I have ever been. The two colonoscopies I’ve had since, I just used the OTC citrate solutions or Epsom salts in lemonade, plus Fleets. I probably won’t live long enough to need another colonoscopy.

Taking the meds that clean you out is not the worst part by a long way. I have mixed them with lemon-lime sugar free Gatorade, sugar free lemonade mix and the like; not great, but workable.

It's the cramping and other fun of being cleaned out that really make it unpleasant. As I now say about a lot of medical experiences, I don't have to enjoy it. I have to appreciate it.

Given the potential costs of skipping a colonoscopy, which have been described here by a couple of members, I'll take 3 hours of unpleasant cleansing over the other costs.

What a timely tread. My roto rooter is scheduled for this Tues and I'm about to partake of the last solid foods until this is over. I'm doing the Miralax mix with 64 oz of orange gatoraid. It's been 20 yrs since the last time I purposely vacated my system. And as has been said before "this too shall pass".

I actually used that last time in November and it was very much easier. Man and woman up, it's not like you are going to be on a rack for a week, I thought we had strong members here. Of among some of the medical procedures I have had this falls into the minor or negligible category.
