OK, that's what I thought. I don't think this law exists. At least lots of people don't know about it because several clubs have been closed for exactly this reason. The most notable is Vandalia in Ohio.

They tried the salted bullets with us. I looked at them and strange there were no markings from the supposedly rifle they were fired from. And the location from where they supposedly landed was 180 degrees in the opposite direction from the direction our impact area was (berms). They didn't believe us about that one so a map was made and showed their supposed impact area versus our impact area. But behind that was the railroad that actually owned the property wanted someone with deep pockets if the EPA ever found out that there were two unlicensed hazardous waste dumps on the property then they would fall under EPA regs requiring abatement or cleaning up the two sites. So when the railroad pulled our lease they got stuck with any cleanup if and when it happens. So for four years we had no place to call home. Then the club bought some 160 acres near some borrow pits and this year the land will be paid off. They are talking about spending approx 2 million in improvements and a 1000 yd range. Range membership will now be limited to 850 members due to the fact that some members have demonstrated unsafe range practices serious enough to require them being booted out of the club. Also some members have been loaning out their membership cards and keys (gate is locked at all times except when entering and leaving) to non members of the club. This was found out and both the non members and the members who loaned out their cards and keys have been expelled from the club. Memberships now require background checks and board approval after the 850 number has been reached. I belong to this club for almost 17 years and new members have no respect for other members belongings. Have had people "borrow" my spotting scope and there were a few well chosen words over that episode. Frank

Give your neighbor a tour of a local Pig Farm. Then tell him if the range is forced to close it will be turned into a cooperative Pig Farm.
