Mrs Chad mentioned the recall to me this morning. Some of their batches are potentially contaminated with Listeria. If you have some of this in your freezer, check the "best by..." dates and lot numbers.

Really, though, how does this happen? At the processing plant I suppose, but those places are usually as clean as an operating room.

Two things come to mind. The first is: The key word is USUALLY!
The second is, There are so many of these things that I think there is a saboteur among the staff!

4 or 5 years ago a local Ice Cream company had a Listeria infection/recall. They shut down the plant and did 3 disinfectings! and the first batch out of the machinery was infected. Repeat disinfectings, also infected. Change employees infection went away. Typhoid Mary or sabotage?
