What's for dinner?
It was a beautiful fall-like day here so we decided to kick start the "comfort food" season.

That looks yummy!
Tonight we had Home made roast beef dip sammiches and tomato & cucumber salad (from the garden).
Stew, pot roast, and other Fall favorites are coming as the weather cools.
I love Fall!!

Waiting for fall. Then the venison, turkeys, Quail, etc will be on the menu. the garden is being cleaned up now. Some will be freeze dried, most eaten.
Fall is when the good rib sticking food comes back. Soups, stews, roasts all the calories I love come to pass. I welcome fall.

That looks really tasty! It was cool and rainy here today. Would have been a good day to whip up a pot of stew.

Rusty that looks real good. The early Fall season days, cool and crisp, calls for stews, soups, and chili.
Homemade stew last night w/cornbread.
Chili today at noon w/Fritos & crackers w/butter
Sorry, no pictures.

Early cool fall days? 98 degrees today in the valley. 101 a few days prior. Good weather to buy another Python... and did! Never learned how to cook and still don't want to. Packaged turkey and roast beef sandwiches on rye bread and macaroni salad for me. Also love hot dogs 2x weekly while watching baseball. Ensure Plus when I don't want to wash a dish.

We have "hams" and "turkeys" every fall at the gun club. It coincides with Hunter Sight-in Days. . . .

I had a repeat breakfast dinner again Wednesday. She said she needed to cook up the stuff before she flies back in a couple days.
I complained not. Might get lucky and have it again today.

I picked up another cut wrapped and frozen steer that had spent 120 on corn, Tuesday. Yesterday was my mother in laws birthday, T bones, off a hot grill, Bairdi crab and fresh corn on the cob.

We, mostly the wife, made green bean soup today. Potatoes, green beans, onion, dill, sour cream, and half & half.
It's delicious, and usually one bowl is not enough for me.

Try Pepsi Pot Roast. It's delicious.
3-4 lb. pot roast
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
16 oz. bottle of Pepsi
Place meat in slow cooker. Top with mushroom soup and onion soup mix. Pour in Pepsi. Cover. Cook on High 6 hours.
4 lbs. of meat and put in 2 cans of soup and 2 envelopes of dry onion mix. This made more juice. Enjoy.

Tonight, I will be having something that has not been on the table in quite a long time.
There are a lot of ways to fix this little gem, with all the posibilities that one
can dream up, depending on the taste to be aquired.
Pass the ketchup, it is, Stuffed Bell Pepper time.

Our supper club
We need to start a rotating supper club: once a month a member hosts dinner for the members that can get there.
We’ll call it the “Revolver Supper Club” (or the Revolving Supper Club) .
I think Rusty is the logical first host (sorry Rusty, someone has to go first!).

This was a meal from last week:
Pork tenderloin marinated for a full day in Siracha and honey, brazed in the Instant Pot (another kitchen gizmo - love it!); removed the meat and deglazed the pot with 1 cup of chicken broth; added extra honey, small red and gold potatoes, mushrooms and diced carrots; cooked on high pressure for 3 minutes with a 12 minute natural cool-down before opening; sliced and served with the broth it made in the pot.
Mildly hot and sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth tender!
