Starbucks support Hamas

I admit I was pretty PO'd when I posted this.
The Starbucks company has issued a statement saying that it was their worker's union that made that statement on social media and that they do not support it. The post by the union has since been deleted.
Story Here

Despite trying to distance themselves from their own employees a company is judged by the people they hire.
Starbucks has a history of being ultra-liberal. I quick internet search will give you plenty of reasons to dislike them.

Bugs Bunny is correct regarding starbucks. Have Never been in their business and definitely Never would pay that much for coffee, make my own at home.

I'd rather drink cod liver oil than that overpriced swill.
Starbuck's if you remember treats LE like dirt.

What did Starbucks do with regards to LE ? Did I miss something?

If you enjoy patronizing coffee houses, there is a galaxy of alternative coffee chains. Black Rifle is pro-gun. I do not drink coffee, have never been inside a Starbucks.

I don't personally drink or spend any money at Starbucks (don't like coffee and make my own tea at home), but the linked article refers to the Israeli worker's union for the company, not the company itself or US employees.

It's not clear, but I think it's the U.S. Starbucks workers union. They have 400,000+ employees. The union is 9,000. A boycott is pointless, you'll hurt a lot of innocent employees.

I'd also point out that employment discrimination is illegal.

Edit: The Union is nice enough to offer a map of their unionized locations. Boycott these.

Haven't had Starbucks coffee in ages. My stepson worked there through college and gave us a couple pounds of assorted beans per month, the "employee allotment." Never gave them an actual nickel. If'n I need overpriced coffee I can buy a pound of "Blue Horse" for close to $60 last I checked. Even then I get almost 20 pots out of it. Joe

There you go again, bothering people with details and facts that matter and trample the headline. Tsk, tsk! ;)

I never go there myself. It's a stupid expensive cup of coffee. I never did see the attraction.

Spread the word to everyone you know, every forum you visit and all over social media.

I think the title of this thread is incredibly misleading. Starbucks does not support Hamas; the union representing some of Starbucks' employees made a single post on social media (now deleted) that supported Hamas. Starbucks as a company had zero to do with this - but I guess that wouldn't make as interesting of a headline...

As for reasons why not to patronize Starbucks, there are a lot why I won't long before I ever looked into their international politics. (And Yes, there are more than a few places I DO avoid because of their politics, but that's not what this is about.) Frankly, their outrageous prices turned me away long before I would bother to look for any OTHER reason! :D

Does it make sense that a huge corporation with a business model designed to make as much profit as possible and increase share value for the stockholders would support a terrorist orginisation like hamas which the vast majority of their customers hate? No it does not. Critical thinking skills are important people! Check your sources!

^This.

Even if you don't check other sources, at least read the one supplied. It clearly states that the offending comment was on the union's social media account. Doh!
