CT scan results.
IMPRESSION:
1. Anterior left upper lobe 2.7 cm suspicious mass with spiculated margins, extension to the pleural surface, and extension into the left suprahilar region. Probable enlarged left AP window and hilar lymph nodes. 0.8 cm round shaped lymph node is along
the left superior mediastinum (series 4, image 98). Left lower lobe posterior basilar segment 1.6 cm suspicious mass with abutment and tenting of the adjacent pleura (series 602, image 75). Findings are concerning for metastases or primary pulmonary
malignancy including small cell lung cancer.
2. Left paratracheal 1.7 cm suspicious lymph node at the thoracic inlet.
3. Mild coronary artery calcifications.
4. Bilateral breast postsurgical and post radiation changes.
Off to the Oncologist.

Hoping for the best. I've been finding out this year that different folks interpret scans differently. Hopefully the oncologist will have a better opinion.

This is why I don't give it a second thought when I donate to legitimate cancer research facilities. The other one is UPMC Pittsburgh Children's Hospital...and not just at Christmas time.

Lisa's a tough chick and keeps herself fit and healthy. She wore me out on our last hike.
Anyway, she has lotsa tests and scans scheduled for the next few weeks.
Once the doctors find out what's what they'll be able to put together a way to fight it.
Being that she's so healthy, they'll be able to really hit it hard.

Hoping for the best, but my sister had small-cell lung cancer. It has a propensity to spread to the brain. Took her down quickly after having an "all-clear" scan a few months early following lung surgery and chemo.

PET scan shows that it's just in her left lung. Next up, Bronchoscopy this Thursday with a biopsy.
