Biopsy shows that it's triple negative, Her2 cancer probably metastasized from her breast cancer from a coupla years ago.
We have an appointment with an oncologist on the 21st.

I looked up triple negative. As a cancer survivor, I have an inkling of what you guys are going through. We are all hoping for the best for Lisa and you, and continue to send our prayers.

I looked it up too.... and as a cancer survivor as well, I remember looking at stuff online and being completely overwhelmed with the great unknown... with over 8 years to look back at it, I feel a bit silly being filled with uncertainty about everything... but the fact is you just don't know what you don't know..listen to the doctors and go from there... we will continue to pray for you both.

The NP on our lymphoma team told my wife to stay away from Dr. Google if you don't want to scare yourself to death. There are some great sources of information on the internet and some not so good.
I will be thinking of you two as I get my 4th infusion today and praying for better days to come. I can feel the positive thoughts of my family and friends and hope you feel it to. We are all with you Snubbyfan. I feel I am at a loss for words at this moment, but stay strong you two. We are with you in your fight.

Narrative & Impression
Exam: Brain MRI without and with contrast
Clinical History: Lung massMediastinal adenopathy
ACR Reason for Exam
Ordering Comments: None.
Study Notes: R/o METS.
Comparison: None.
Technique: Standard MRI of the brain without and with IV contrast.
Contrast: GADOBUTROL 1 MMOL/ML IV SOSY (WRAP)/7 mL
Findings:
Indication specific: Multiple enhancing brain metastases. Dominant medial right cerebellar metastasis measures 1.7 x 1.3 cm, with mild to moderate surrounding vasogenic edema. At least 9 tiny additional metastases scattered throughout the cerebellar
hemispheres and vermis.
Several tiny brainstem metastases including 4 mm lesion along the right ventral medulla, 4 mm left central pontine lesion, 3 mm left periaqueductal lesion. Subtle hyperenhancement along the right inferior colliculus may (series 9 image 86) and left
superior colliculus (series 9 image 93) may reflect additional metastases.
Dominant cerebral metastases along the posterior aspect of the left middle frontal gyrus measuring up to 8 mm with mild adjacent vasogenic edema. Multiple additional tiny supratentorial metastases involving the subcortical white matter, left caudate
head. In total, there are at least 9 supratentorial metastases.
Acute: No acute ischemia or hemorrhage.
Enhancement: As above.
Cerebral signal: Otherwise normal.
Cerebral volume: Normal.
Cerebellum: As above.
Ventricles: Normal.
Vasculature: Incidental note of a dominant left vertebral artery. Normal flow voids are otherwise maintained.
Orbits: Bilateral pseudophakia. Otherwise grossly unremarkable.
Sella: Normal pituitary.
Calvarium/Bones: Normal.
Sinuses: Clear.
Mastoids: Clear.
IMPRESSION:
Impression:
Numerous (greater than 20) small intracranial metastases involving the subcortical white matter, left caudate, brainstem, and cerebellum. Dominant lesions noted within the right cerebellum (1.7 cm) and left frontal lobe (0.8 cm) with mild/mild adjacent
vasogenic edema.

I don't know where she is being treated, but John Hopkins in Baltimore is rated in the top 10 hospitals for cancer treatment by US News, and I believe it is about 130 miles from you.

We talked to both the oncologist and radiologist today.
They both seem to think that Lisa would do well with radiation for the brain cancer and chemo for her lungs.
Doing them sequential, brain first.

You are dealing with this very well, Snubby and Lisa. With cancer, no sitting around moanin' and groanin'.
Speed is of the essence. Identify the nature of the cancer. Establish the course of treatment. Execute the process.
(In my case, the hardest part of the process was deciding what to do. By nature, I spend too much time on this. Your approach, your decisiveness, is the way to go.)

Lisa starts full brain radiation tomorrow. According to the oncologist, there will be a loss in cognitive function after the 2 weeks of treatment but that Lisa's so intelligent it'll be like taking a pebble of a mountain for her.

Day five of the whole brain radiation treatments.
Halfway there.
Lisa's hanging in there, they have her on steroids to reduce the brain swelling and it's helping her to feel more like her normal self. Unfortunately, they interfere with her sleep but they are helping.
Had a meeting with the oncologist on what to do after the brain zapping's done for the cancer in her lung.
Turns out that Lisa will havta be on medication for the rest of her life. I just hope that it'll be a long life.
Tomorrow, after the daily brain zapping, she has a meeting with the radiation oncologist scheduled.
