Hey Tom,

It sounds like you are getting to know the area. It will be a great spot to call home.

In younger years, we spent lots of time in the Bitterroot Valley. We lived outside Lolo for a year when we moved to Montana. We had many great friends on the farms and ranches in that area. My best friend was the wilderness ranger for the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area; one of the most beautiful places on earth. We spent many days soaking in the Jeremiah Johnson hot springs on the other side of the mountain.

It had been well over a year and a half since I was able to attend a gun show and the Hamilton show, although small, was pretty good.

It was in the main fairgrounds building and the tables were all occupied, probably 150+ tables or so if I had to guess.

There was a variety of firearms on the tables and plenty of ammo, holsters, magazines, etc., etc.

Saw a fair number of S&W's, some pre-model and pre-war and prices were pretty consistant with what I see listed....but no bargains.

It was interesting that there were few if any U.S. Miltary surplus guns for sale......you just don't see Garands, 03's, M1 Carbines, etc. show up at these smaller shows.

If my wife and I end up over in that area I would definetly have a table at this show.

I sold several boxes of hard to find ammo to a table holder, but resisted any temptation to purchase anything. I really need to keep thinning/lightening the load!!
