I'm headed to Orlando this week and am wondering what recommendations there are for good gun shops to visit: ones that have Smiths, US military, older guns, interesting stuff.
Thanks

I don't think I've been in an actual retail gun store in over 20 years. There aren't any here different from where you are (price and inventory wise). That said, whenever I hit "downtown" Dr's offices I dropped into Southern Oaks Gun and Pawn about a mile south of downtown on Orange Ave. I'm out of the pharma biz since 2005 so it's at least that long. Cabelas/BassPro over by Universal is giant, lotsa outdoor stuff in addition to guns. Khaled's HQ otherwise known as the Shoot Straight Apopka store is also massive with a nice range. If "Boss man" is in you can negotiate directly on used guns remembering he didn't get "Oprah money" wealthy giving good deals. Enjoy your time here, lots to see and do. This time of year put the heat on until 9 am, switch to A/C for the rest of the day. Joe

There's a store up in I think Deland . It's been talked about here before , hopefully someone will remember and chime in . They have a lot of older stuff , not just S&W . Last time I was there I scored some mags , my big score was 2 20rd 5900 mags .

Just north of Orlando in Casselberry on Hwy 17-92 is Shoot Straight. Anyone who has been to a circuit gun show knows them.

Shooter's World is on the west side of town on Kirkman Road (just north of the Turnpike overpass). They probably also have the nicest indoor range in town.

But if you are looking for a smaller shop I can recommend both The Armories in Kissimmee (south of Orlando on Osceola Pkwy) and Addison's Gun Shop (on Orange Blossom Trail also in Kissimmee). Otherwise, there are dozens and dozens of smaller shops that only depend on how much time you want to spend in the car to go and look around. We have a saying here - "Orlando is an hour away from Orlando." :D

Addendum - If you are going to the coast, there is FrogBones in Melbourne. This is the most unusual place I've ever been to. It has a shop, a range and a restaurant - which by itself is not unusual but they won't serve you alcohol then let you shoot; but they will let you drive home!
